School Uniform Plain Front Iron Knee® Blend Chino Pants
I ordered these for my daughter. She is in the 6th grade and very tall. These are the only school pants that work as she has outgrown the girls sizes. It was nice to be able to order them to the proper length and have them hemmed for free. However, I was not happy with the price. All of the other pants were on sale and, of course, these were not. They were $40 per pair (I ordered two pair as she did not have ANY pants- $80) which I think is very expensive for uniform pants that will most likely not get me through the rest of the year. Great pants but too expensive. When all other school pants are on sale, put these ones on sale too.

Port fit & sizing
I purchased the next size up for my daughter and they don't fit at all
January 6, 2014
i ordered them twice. Both the times pants shrunk. I thought my daughter is growing up but her other uniform clothes were fitting her properly , only this is the one which did not. Then i realized it had shrunk.

Shrunk in length
My 10 year old daughter is on the short side, so I ordered 25" inseam (left 1/2" give as recommended.) After a month of wear (rotating 3 pair of pants), I noticed they were all very short on her. I attributed it to a growth spurt...except none of her other clothes were too small. I measured the inseams on her pants and they had shrunk anywhere from 2-3"! Ridiculous. Will be returning them all. The boys pants, however, have NOT shrunk, although one has a hole in the "reinforced" knee. Hate that my children's school requires these.

Inseam too short, pants too big/boxy
The pants are huge. Even with the adjustable waist it's too large. My daughter is 94# and 58" tall and the 14's were huge. The 12's fit but the inseam they offer is too short. The size chart says she should wear the 12's but they are too short for the inseam they offer in the 12's (27 inches) and she's on the shorter side of the size chart for the 12's. There is no way a child that is 60 inches tall could wear these in length. They are boxy, square and the legs are wide all the way down. I don't know what the answer is, but they need to offer the longer inseam in the 12's.

Great quality watch the Size
I love the Lands End pants for my children as far as color and quality are concerned. However, the sizing I find to be a bit of a challenge! I have tall, slender children, and therefore I order a size that fits length wise, but the waist lines are huge! Even with the gathered/cinch in waist bands, they are still too big and the buttons rub on their bare skin and leave marks. PLEASE consider a SLENDER/skinny fit whatever you want to call it so we do not have so much extra fabric around the waist! Not all of us Americans are fat/husky size!
PS. Also, both my children are wearing the same size in shirts but I cannot tell which is the girls vs. the boys shirts! Please indicate with a color and/or writing/symbol of some sort! Thank you!

Rise is too high
I like everything about these pants except the rise. It is too long.

These pants are a perfect fit and color.
The pants are a good fit given the adjustable waistband. My daughter has a small waist with long legs and the adjustable waistband is convenient. She plays hard at school and the quality is excellent. Her pants from last school year are still of good quality.

I love these pants for my daughter for school. The wear nicely and don't fade. But Lands End needs to offer longer inseams. My daughter is 55in tall and weighs about 85 lbs. I ordered her a size 12 and it fits everywhere but length. She does not have long legs. This is the second year where the longest inseam offered barely fits her. According to the LE size chart, a size 12 should fit a child that is 58-60 inches tall and weighs 85-95 lbs. My daughter is on the small end of LE's size 12, but the longest inseam is barely long enough. I am going to order unfinished pants, but that mean I pay extra and have to wait longer to have someone hem them.
Please consider offering longer inseam lengths!

this pant is stiff and boxy.
this is my first time ordering from Lands end,if it was up to me I would never order these pants,I had no choice because that's what her school require her to wear. First these are suppose to be girls pants and they look and fit like boy pants, nothing feminine about these pants, which I hate. Second my 9 year old daughter is slim and tall and these pants are short(size 10 uncuffed, inseam 26) on her,I can't go a size up because they would be too big,and I got her the slim fit which I think is still too big. The inseam lengths should go a lil higher, not all kids are built the same.
Idk who is behind the design of these pants, but they need to go back to the drawing board, these pants are not feminine....these pants looks more like boy pants. I could have gotten better looking pants which fit better else where for a good price,I just wish my daughter's school gave us parents freedom to choose where to buy our kids KHAKI PANTS instead of forcing us to get these.
