These socks are good quality, however, my daughter wears a size 13 in girls shoes so I ordered the size L but I think I error-ed on the side of caution and should have bought the M because the socks are LONG. Also we live in the South so the weight of the socks is light so that is fine but if I was in the North and needed a heavier weight I wouldn't buy these.
All in all a good sock, especially for uniforms and I am coming back and purchasing another set in Hunter Green and the smaller size M in white. Maybe I can trade my L :)

I bought these socks about 4 years ago for my oldest, and they've lasted perfectly. They're in such good shape, my youngest can now wear them with her uniform. However, I just bought 9 new pairs over the summer, and one of them has already ripped at the top. I'm guessing it's from all the pulling you have to do to get them on. My kids are skinny, and yet it still takes them 10 minutes to put them on in the morning. I buy Land's End for the outlasting quality, so when something rips right away, that's a pretty big disappointment. Hopefully they'll work on improving these, cause I have a lot more years to come buying uniform socks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Liatbrowne Very disappointed.
The socks were mismatched in size. One of the 2 socks in the pair is small by far and very noticeably.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Applejuicecook Why is the size only on ONE sock?
We have worn these socks for 2 years. We love these socks. But...they now only put the size of the sock on the bottom of ONE of the socks in the pair. This means that every week when I wash 10 pairs of them for my two daughters, I get to just guess which sock is a medium, and which is a large. And if I pick up two socks with no size, I get to guess if they match, and which child they will fit. We have bought these previously, and they don't uniformly shrink so just holding them up & comparing doesn't work. I know I can write a size with a marker on the bottom, but for $5 a pair, I shouldn't have to. Lands End, please spend the extra penny per sock & go back to putting the size on BOTH socks in a pair. Love, your faithful shopper

Love Lands' End, don't love these socks.
They feel terrible, have minimal stretch and are built for sticks not legs. The correct size was selected but they did not perform for even a moment the way a sock should.
It's enough of a fight already to get out the door for school and fighting with my kids socks is not on my morning to do list - my plate is full thank you. While it says they are cotton/nylon/lycra, it is if they are 99% immovable nylon. Not fun.

Rated 2 out of 5 by PAlonzo The quality of the socks was not what I expected for the price
The second day my daughter wore the socks, one of them tore around the top rim. For $15 for 3 pairs I would have hoped they would have been a bit sturdier for a kid to wear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CoolMaria2 Nice socks a little tight
I am not sure if it's because my daughter doesn't have toothpick legs or if they are just supposed to be tight to keep from falling down. The socks seem thin and tight around the upper calf. The sizes are true to shoe sizes
