They fade and wear down the same as any $5-10 pair of school uniform pants you can purchase from any store. I only buy them because I am forced to purchase Lands End only from my school.

I usually avoid buying pants online for this reason, but it is required for my school. These pants run small. Yes, I measured. Yes, I double checked the measurements. I had to order for 3 children and myself. I ordered that pant sizes that fit in all the stores we usually shop from. All 4 of us now have expensive pants that are tighter than comfortable.

The fit was perfect. The order was correct and delivered on time. However they came out of the dryer a wrinkled mess. Followed all of the directions for laundering. These are not wrinkle resistant. I would return them if I could, but they are required by the school uniform policy.

Lands End was my "go-to" for school uniform pants for years, until now. It seems they're using a new material that is hard and scratchy. I tried another style- but the material was the same. My daughter, who has never complained of fabric-softness before, could not tolerate wearing them long enough to show me how they looked, so I had to return them. I am very disappointed and frustrated.

The last 4 pairs of pants I bought in size 8 regular and 10 slim for my two girls all had the elastic sewn into /stuck under at least one belt loop. It appears that instead of threading the elastic through AFTER the pants are completed, they put the elastic in the waistband before the belt loops were sewn on to save a step. As a result, when stitching the belt loop to the waistband, the elastic got caught underneath the belt loop, and is sewn in under the waistband and DOES NOT MOVE/SLIDE. On one pair, I kept tugging and tugging and couldn't figure out why the elastic was only bunching in a two inch area on the side, rather than gathering evenly all around the back and eventually the threads tore and the elastic broke free and now I can see that about 1/4 inch of the elastic got sewn up with the stitching of the belt loop. With the other three pairs, they are even more stitched in so they are not breaking free at all and it looks like the only way to fix it is to take apart the belt loops. Even if the manufacturing process/steps are poorly thought out, no one checked these pants before they left the shop to see if the elastic was free to slide back and forth like it's supposed to. Very disappointing, Lands End. Plus the rise is still too low for my 8 yr old's taste. I know low rise is the current favored style but when little kids sit cross-legged in school, they are more concerned if their classmates can see the back of their underwear peeking out the top, which always shows with these type of low rise pants, than being on trend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by UYCG Cut too small
My daughter can no longer wear this style (12 plus) due to the new narrow cut through the thigh in particular. Will have to try a different brand. Definitely not an improvement!!

My daughter is on the slim side, so the narrow pant legs were okay, but the hips and waist were very strangely proportioned. We had to pull the inner elastic waistband in quite far, but that caused the butt to "bubble" out. Furthermore, the rise was so short that they were nearly indecent in the back. Unfortunately, we washed ours, and they are so awful, they won't even be worn once for a band concert. I put "True-to-Size" above because they were big in some places but smaller than average than others...

Rated 1 out of 5 by Francine99 Odd looking & terrible fitting
I am not sure what the little girl would look like who is a "perfect fit" for these pants...certainly not like any human girls I have ever seen. The pockets stick way out and the whole hip region is super wide while the legs are too narrow. My daughter hates them but she needs black pants for a band concert so I am keeping them because I do not have time to keep hunting but I am positive she will wear them the one time and that will be it. I am not sure what the problem is but the past few years many LE kids items are erratically sized and sometimes just strange looking.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tong Legs are too narrow
My daughter has worn this style of pants for several years with no problem. However, the new styling with a narrower leg is very uncomfortable. (Note that she quite slim, but the legs are still too tight.) Will be returning these and shopping elsewhere for pants that are comfortable enough to wear.
