School Uniform Girls' Button-front Drifter Cardigan Sweater
Very nice sweater.
This sweater can be worn in the fall and on mild winter days. The sweater holds its shape, washes well and lasts the entire school year. The sweater fits nicely and runs true to size.

This thin Cardigan is perfect, if you want thicker fabric, get the boy's one
As the other reviewers are saying, this is a thinner sweater with small buttons. If you want a heavier weight sweater, buy the boy's one. I purchased this one AND the boys sweater, and they are two completely different materials, fabric weight, button size, etc. This works PERFECT if your child tends to get hot, like mine does. After the undershirt, blouse, and sweater, in a winter classroom with the heat on, this material is perfect for her. If you want a heavyweight sweater, go with the boys equivalent.

Very cute and stylish
I bought this for my 2.5 year old daughter's school photos since I didn't want to put the school logo on a t-shirt. I bought a size 3 for her since my daughter is a little taller than average, but she is petite in build, and this fit perfectly. It's not too loose and looks neat and stylish for a little girl. The length is just right for her, hitting just below waistline, and she can wear this until she grows another 1-2 inches. I've washed it about 5-6 times so far. Color has faded slightly, but that was to be expected from other reviews. Still looks nice with her school uniform and can probably last her until summer time next year.

still classy looking
It's shorter than before, the material is lighter weight than before, but it still looks very very nice. Have only washed them once, but they bounced right back into shape, and after a couple hours of wearing, they even regained their length. I am so hoping not to have to return them. I have two of these drifter cards from over 11 years ago. Not quite the same color they started out at, but wash and dry beautifully. and still nice enough to wear to work. The new ones are good at sale prices, but not so worth regular price. And since I still make all my t shirt and sweater purchases from L E, I watch for specials.

Bought for my 9th grade daughter for school. She says it is comfortable and fits well.

Not the same sweater as before
I've been ordering uniform items from Lands End for a few years now and just received this revised version of the drifter cardigan in my order for the coming year. This is not the same nice heavy weight of previous years and, as another reviewer noted, the buttons are rather small. The quality construction is still there but I'm disappointed that I can't count on having a warmer sweater for the cold winter months with this medium gauge sweater. I'm guessing that the zip-front cardigan has also been revised to a lighter gauge.

Great cotton cardigan for older girls
Pros: Medium weight cotton, excellent workmanship and nice feminine fit (not too loose, not too tight).
Cons (minor): I would prefer the buttons to be a little larger - it takes some time for my 9yo to button up; it's much harder for my younger daughter. However, open or button up the cardigan looks very nice.
My 9yo is tall (56"), and size 10-12 fits her perfectly (sleeves and length). The weight of this cotton cardigan is perfect for school! I can't imagine why other parents would spend more for a polyester cardigan at other stores...My kids wouldn't even try those on, but love the comfort of LE sweaters. Thank you Land's End for a great product!

The quality is great and the fit perfect. This cardigan arrived in June, waiting for school to start in August, but my daughter started wearing it right away. She loves it!

Quality 100% cotton sweater.
This sweater, in red to conform to my daughter's school uniform guidelines, is perfect. She doesn't need a heavy outer layer usually, and having the 100% cotton content is exactly what she wants. The quality is what I expect of a Lands End product. The sleeves are just right on the length. She wears a 7-8 or medium on top now, even though she's just 6 years old. My fantastic in-laws ordered the 7-8 size and it fits perfectly on body length, too. It even has pockets. So much more refined than just a sweatshirt. Thank you.

Not meant for warmth.....at all!
Its made thinner than I expected. I held it up to the light n can really see right through it. My daughter complained she was freezing in it. Feels cheap. For Summer Uniform I guess its ok...maybe 70 degrees or warmer?
