School Uniform Boys' Plain Front Blend Chino Shorts
Sizing wonky, but they hold up
I'll be the first to admit the sizing is wonky on these. Based on my son's measurements, he should have been an 8, but he was swimming in them! We did get the size worked out (tip: order several in a bunch of different sizes/fits, order more of the ones that work, and send the rest back -- or take them to Sears for a return). These shorts lasted MUCH longer than anything else I've ever bought and my kids have been wearing uniforms for years. In fact, I'll be recycling my older son's shorts to my younger son, they still look that good! No holes, no fading, no wear...and I have boys that PLAY. My only regret is not getting the same in pants last year. Won't make that mistake this year.

These shorts were picked to be part of our school's dress code. I think the material is thick and too hot for schools in the South that start back the 1st of August!!! Based on the size chart, these shorts run very small. I went up two sizes according to my sons weight. He weighs 75 pounds and the size 12 regular is extremely tight in the waist!! Wish they would make the Lands End boat shorts with an elastic waist one of our choices for the school dress code. They are sooooo much cooler and comfortable.

Long lasting great quality
A terrific pair of shorts for my son. He is hard on his clothes and these shorts stand up to the challenge and look great too!

I have bought Lands End uniform shorts for over ten(10) years and never had a problem until now. I bought three(3) of the tan and two(2) of the blue. The tan are up to Lands End standards. The blue are not. I ordered the size 18 and our grandson couldn't even tuck an undershirt and shirt into the shorts. They were beyond way too tight and very poor quality. I couldn't believe how different the tan and blue shorts were. I always buy from Lands End because of quality. I am now very wary of buying the blue and that is the color he likes. How can the tan be perfect and the blue so imperfect?

My son is 6'2 and has never been considered short. These shorts are way too long on him and I only ordered regular length.
I was not happy with the size measurements of this garment. I have never had to have any alterations to garments to fit this child. He is very tall and these shorts are very long. Strange.

Very nice uniform shorts
These are great shorts for my very skinny 4-year old that must wear uniform shorts to school. You can see the quality as compared to other shorts/pants that we have purchased from another major clothing retailer. These don't shrink nearly as much. They hold up well after washing and have the adjustable waist band (which is a must for us given his waist size). We will be buying more next year. The price is a bit more that other places, but it is worth it.

Great shorts. Will last through the yr even with rough boys!
Great shorts. Lasted the whole year. No stains or scuffs. Holds up to all the boy activities.

Great shorts, but wish you could custom order the length or offer options for length.
I am also happy to see that the blend shorts are back as I love the way they wash and wear. However, I wish that there was an option to specify an inseam and have them hemmed to length like the pants (or select a length) . My son needs a men's size in the waist, but is not that tall (only about 5'2"), so these shorts fell well below his knee. After spending the money on the shorts, I had to pay an additional amount for hemming so that he could wear them to school.

Glad these are back!
We are so happy to see these are back! When we tried to order them during the April sale, they had been discontinued. Glad to see L.E. listened and brought them back. Just wish I hadn't caved in and bought the 100% cotton! This blend fabric doesn't feel like it has polyester in it, and it makes all the difference in how long these shorts last. The all cotton have lots of complaints of wearing through the back near the pockets and fading over time. I wish everyone would try these since they are so much longer lasting! The issue may be that some schools don't know these are available so they might not be listed on the approved dress code. They look the same as 100% cotton only better because they hold up much better! Thank you for bringing them back!
