School Uniform 2-button Stretch Skort (Above The Knee)
We like the style and color of the khaki because it doesn't seem to fade

Well made, classic skirt
I purchased this skirt for school for my daughter in a size 10, which she normally wears in clothes from anywhere. It was HUGE. Returned it for a size 8, which is still a bit big, but fits well enough. She LOVES this skirt and wears it so much that I ordered 2 more. Compared to khaki bottoms purchased at other places. the skirt is of the highest quality, which is expected from Lands End. The simple lines, built in shorts, belt loops, pockets - all of it together makes the perfect skirt. Well made. High quality material. Good stitching. Not too long, not too short. Highly recommend.

Wonderful basic that is both comfy and classic!
As a Petite female who typically wears size 00/0 or a 26 in bottoms, the girl's sizes worked perfectly for me as they corresponded well to my height!!! Therefore, they fall a couple inches above the knee but still within a range that is appropriate (a few inches longer than the fingertip rule). However, there are some sizing differences between the navy and khaki. I wear a 14 in the navy. I had to order a 12 in the khaki since the size 14 was a full inch bigger at the waist, as well as an inch and a half longer. Love these skorts, especially because they're all cotton!!

Great skort, but huge variance within each size
I ordered this skort in tan and navy, size girls 14. The navy fit well, but the tan one was quite tight, at least 1" smaller at the waist. Then both pairs shrank in the wash! I re-ordered in size 16. The navy skort again fit fairly well, but the tan skort was enormous, at least 2" wider than the navy. The adjustable elastic inside the tan size 16 is much longer than it needs to be when unstretched, and loops out on the insides instead of lying flat.
We love this style, so I'm not sure what we're going to end up keeping. Be aware that there isn't much consistency in the sizing. However, they are comfortable, have just enough stretch, and look great on, whether for a school uniform or regular clothes. The fabric does tend to pick up lint.
Recommended with reservations about sizing!

Not the skort I bought 2 yes ago
I have this skort in the khaki color and have worn it countless times over the past 2 years. Ordered another in Navy this year and it was a full TWO INCHES shorter! I am only 5'2" so the shorter length is not a huge problem but I was definitely more comfortable in the original. Above the knee should not be halfway up the thigh!

Looks great and fits comfortably
Let's face it, most of our kids would rather wear street clothes than their school uniforms. This piece, however, is a favorite of my daughter's. She likes that it is a skort and not a skirt, it is comfortable enough to wear all day long, and the length of it is just right. Also, the color works with all of her shirts. Winner!

Meh. Frumpy and longer than stated on LE website
Great twill skort. However, the skirt is NOT 18" per the pdf for the skirt, but rather 20". I think it runs a size big. I wear a 4-6 and bought a 4. It would be hard to shorten unless you were a seamstress "not because it has to small slits on either side of the hem. Anyway, on me, it falls at the knee. I'm 5'6, but have a long torso and shorter legs. Exchanging for something else. I might take a photo before I.send it back.

The quality of the skirt is great, however the monogramed was misplaced.
I was disappointed because the monogram was put in the wrong place--on the front of the skirt instead of the back of it. I would have returned them, but I was afraid it would take a month to get the new ones back and they were needed now and not a month from now. I really just assumed this was something they would get correct, but they didn't. Thankfully, my daughter did not mind the monogram on the front.

Just right for the classroom
As a teacher in sunny San Diego I needed something comfortable but more formal than shorts for hot days in the classroom. This skort fits well and the material is substantial - much like chinos. The knit shorts beneath the skirt are nice and soft. Looks put together while I dash around the room.
