Print Classmate® Large Backpack
This year, I purchased a Lands' End backpack hoping for something that would survive the school year. I am so disappointed. The mesh pockets are already falling apart. My daughter is a typical girl. She isn't that rough on her backpack, but we have had trouble with the cheap ones falling apart. When she came home and told me this back pack already had a hole (after 4 weeks of use), I was so frustrated. I was expecting something we could use for more than one school year. Instead, I'm in the same place I was in with the "cheap" backpacks. We even spent the money for the Monogram thinking this would last. The rest of the bag seem to be holding up, but at this rate, the mesh side pockets will be useless by winter break. I specifically chose this bag so we would have a place for her water bottle. I'm going to have to come up with some way to fix it before the entire pocket unravels.

This baclpack is supercute, ordered it in the leopard print along with lunch box and pencil case. School does not start till tomorrow, I'm sure it will work well.

This backpack overall is perfect for my daughter. She loves the fit, space, and pattern!

My daughter was surprised how many items she could fit in here!
School has not started yet, but I expect this bag will last and hold up very well as all Lands End backpacks we have purchased in the past have been. Very high quality, I converted three Mom's to buy Lands End for their kids this year. They will not be disappointed!

The best backpacks
I bought the vibrant polkadot one for this school year but in Large. Same great quality and vibrant colors. My daughter loves it. She had the medium sized one last year for grade 1, there was just enough room for her school books and snowpants but not much else so this year I got the large. She is tall for a 7 year old so the large one fits her perfectly.

These backpacks are worth every penny!
I bought this bag for my daughter in a polka dot pattern and a blue space themed one for my son back in 2012, they are still in pretty good shape. They did get pretty dirty after a while, and although the directions stated that they should not be machine washed I took a chance and washed them, and they looked almost brand new again. My daughter loves this new leopard pattern. My son, who is known around my house as "the destroyer", managed to keep this backpack in good shape for two years. A fete just short of miraculous for him. This is the only backpack I would think of getting for my kids, they are so durable and hold quite a bit without putting too much strain on their little spines. They are worth every penny.

Well worth the money
I just machine washed my daughter's large backpack from fall 2013. The tag says not to use a washer, but I did. It's still in PERFECT shape. She didn't handle it with kid gloves, either. This book bag has had tons of books carried in it, has been tossed around on the ground, you name it. The bottom isn't even worn. My daughter is a tad upset that it held up so well being that she really wants the new leopard print one this year. We'll see!

Backpack didn't make it through the year, main zipper ripped out.
I have purchased the "classmate backpacks" for over the last 5 years, I usually get at least 2 years out of them for size and they are still in functional shape. This is the first year I bought the large and the zipper ripped out half way through the year, I also bought a new medium and it has held up great. My daughter didn't even have books to carry yet, few folders , boots, snow pants, hat, sports clothes changes, so nothing heavy, everything fit fine the zipper just ripped out. It was a good thing we still had her old Medium size from last year, it finished out the year. Not sure I will buy another large, for the price, on the fence. I have not been disappointed with the medium size.
