When I originally wrote this review, I gave these sheets 4 stars. However, after sleeping in them for a week, I was hooked. I contacted Land's End to be able to edit my original review and give them 5 stars. These are everything I didn't know I wanted!
I had been looking for the perfect sheet for about 6 months and had purchased and returned multiple sets from different department stores. I finally got the Land's End tip after staying in someone's guest room. Unfortunately, Land's End didn't have the sheets I was specifically looking for, so I decided to give the Oxford's a go, as the reviews are great. They are a beautiful sheet. Right away, I was able to tell that they were sturdy and durable. They do have a slightly different feel than any sheets I've had before. I first put them on the bed without washing them and noticed they were pretty different than I was used to (slick, synthetic sheeting most likely).
Initially, the sheets were soft and had a very slight itch to them, but weren't uncomfortable to sleep in. They looked beautiful on the bed, but were surprisingly huge! My mattress is about 12" deep and it's not a pillow top. I was hoping that washing them would shrink them up a bit. I ran them though the wash twice and then dried, following the instructions. They did shrink up to a nice-fitting size, still plenty of room and were able to cover the mattress entirely. They did wrinkle up a bit. I didn't mind that the actual sheets were wrinkly (that usually comes out once they're on the bed), but the pillow cases (especially around the buttons) were the most wrinkled part. I ran the iron over the pillow cases and most of the wrinkles came out.
If you're looking for a silky smooth sheet, these aren't it. And that's what threw me off about them; their gritty softness. They're not scratchy, but they do have a comfortable roughness to them. Other reviews say they soften up over time, and I noticed that they have with the first few washes. It's a homey, hearty, country kind of feel.
Like I said, after a week of sleeping in these, I was hooked. Even my guy said that he loves them, and he doesn't really care about sheets. They're heavy without being hot. Since they're sturdy, they actually hold your blanket in place and stay in place while you sleep. They pair very nicely with my cotton duvet and down blanket and make the bedding feel much better. I thought what I wanted was smooth, slick, slippery sheets...and I was wrong!
These sheets are of a nice quality, the temperature is very comfortable. They breathe well and are of a higher quality than some of the other sheet sets that I've experienced. I got the light grey stripes, and the sheets match the photos online pretty accurately. The button details on the pillow cases are very cute as well. Kinda wishing I would have gotten them embroidered...but next time! I really love these a lot, will probably get another set, and am so glad I found something that surprised me and turned out to be exactly what I didn't know I wanted.

I've been looking for the perfect sheet for over 6 months and purchased and returned about five different sets. I finally got the Land's End tip after staying in someone's guest room. Unfortunately, Land's End didn't have the sheets I was specifically looking for (discontinued), so I decided to give the Oxford's a go, as the reviews are great. I originally wrote a review giving them 4 stars, but I had to change it to 5. It turns out that these were the sheets I never knew I wanted! I thought I wanted the smooth slippery sheets, and I was wrong.
When these arrived I first put them on the bed without washing them. They were soft and had a very slight itch to them, but it didn't make them uncomfortable to sleep in. I ran the iron over the pillow cases and most of the wrinkles came out.
Since these weren't a slick silky sheet, I was taken aback at first. These have a gritty softness to them - sturdy and rustic. Based on the reviews, people say they soften up a bit, and I could tell that they did a on the first round of washing. The first couple of nights sleeping on them was a different feel and I wasn't sure if I liked them...but now after a week, I am hooked. These sheets are comfortably heavy and cozy without being too hot or smothering. Since they're not slippery, your covers stay in place and these pair very nicely with my light down comforter and cotton duvet. The sheets help keep you warm without being too hot. I just didn't know my bed could feel this nice. Even my guy said that he loved them and could tell a difference, and he doesn't really care what we sleep on.
These sheets are of a nice quality, the temperature is very comfortable. They seem to breathe well and are of a higher quality than all of the other department store sets I tried. I got the light grey stripes, and the sheets match the photos online pretty accurately. The button details on the pillow cases are very cute. Kinda wishing I would have gotten them embroidered...but I can do that next time because I think I'll get another set.
I originally gave these 4 stars, but just had to go out of my way and contact Land's End to edit my review and give them 5 stars. They are warm, cozy, gritty, comfortable, and have a country feel to them. If you don't like them at first, give them time to grow on you. I'm gonna go lay in the bed now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RJinNYC Wonderful Thick Sheets
I love these sheets and bought these to replace Land's End Supima sateen sheets, which make me feel too hot when sleeping and, like most sateen sheets, feel almost slimy in hot weather.
The Oxford sheets are thick and textured and feel 'dry'. I love the feel of the top and bottom sheets, but I cannot yet use the pillowcases, the texture is too rough on my face.
But since every pillowcase I have tried are too rough for me, even ones that cost $60 a pair #yikes#, this was not surprising. Sadly, have to use cheap cotton/poly pillowcases, as those are the only ones 'smooth' enough for my face.
I am leaving the pillowcases in my laundry basket, so they are washed with every load, as they may soften over time, but I very much love the feel of these sheets. Great for anyone who sleeps 'hot'!
PS: They come out of the dryer a bit wrinkled, but that does not bother me, as it means they have no chemicals in them and this is what real cotton looks like!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JeffClark One year review: Fantastic, and have only improved with age.
Having read all the other reviews, I'd like to first offer an important clarification. The characteristics of bedding fabric are important. Thread counts can be tricky to understand, and do not necessarily guarantee your satisfaction. Percale, Sateen, etc are all different, so if you buy percale sheets and expect them to be silky, or sateen sheets expecting them to be be crisp; you'll likely not be satisfied. This is not a function of the fabric types. These sheets are on the crisp, percale end of the spectrum.
As an avid wearer of Lands' End oxford shirts, I purchased these without worry. The quality of construction and finer details found in the shirts have made them my personal favorites. The sheets are no different. My expectations were high, and were surpassed. The comfort and feel of the shirts only improve with age and, as such, I waited a year to review this product.
When they arrived, I immediately laundered them according to the instructions to wash the sizing out of the fabric. Out of that first wash, the sheets felt almost too crisp for my taste, and I was a little concerned. They stayed this way for the first couple months, despite consistent use of fabric softener. (I wash them once a week.) I was puzzled, but not dissatisfied. It was around the 90 day mark that I noticed they had broken in just as I expected them to. Now, after a year, they're fantastic. They still have that signature crispness, but have developed a slight nap to the fabric which softens them to the touch. For my taste, it's perfect. In warmer months, they're cool and breathable. In cooler months, the heft of the fabric is enough to add warmth without adding bulk. I find that the top sheet is substantial enough that I don't need as heavy a duvet as I do with other sheets. (In the summer, the top sheet alone is often enough, and in the winter it acts as a very cozy addition.) The overall feel is, well, exactly like sleeping in your favorite button-down.
They're not wrinkle-free, as others have mentioned, but they're not a big deal to maintain. They iron wonderfully, and most often only need a touch-up along the edges and a couple of quick passes over the body of the sheet to keep them looking sharp. Every couple months or so, I take them to the cleaners to be laundered and pressed, no starch, and they look like they did on day one. (They also hold that press for a while afterward, reducing my effort in keeping them smooth. Your mileage may vary.) In general, I catch them right from the dryer, put them on the bed, and I'm done.
I like to use fabric softener and these are near perfect for that. It doesn't turn percale into sateen, but enhances the existing nappy softness. The day they're laundered, the whole bedroom carries the fresh scent, and it lingers subtly until the next washing. I occasionally use linen spray, which works equally well. (When I flip the duvet and top sheet back to climb in bed, it's really quite pleasant.)
If you are able to dry these sheets on a clothesline - they're out of this world.
The corners are sturdy, the elastic is the best I've seen, the sizing fits easily over a 16-inch thick mattress, and the seams and stitching are of the same excellent quality as Lands' End shirts. The fitted sheet pops right on and stays there and the top sheet is great. I've never encountered any other sheets that I would consider of superior fit and finish. At any price.
I own the blue stripe, and the color is lighter than you would expect. I'd envisioned something closer to college stripe oxford shirts, but the true color is more like "light blue." Not quite powder, sky, or baby blue; but the overall appearance doesn't have the contrast you might be looking for. This can easily be addressed by taking advantage of Lands' Ends free fabric swatches. Totally worth the effort to order them before purchasing.
I have these same sheets in the quest room, and I'm universally asked about them. "I love those sheets, where did you get them?" So much so I have the product page bookmarked so I can email it easily.
They make an excellent wedding gift.
In closing, I cannot recommend these highly enough. I miss them when I travel.
Understand the fabric, follow the care instructions, give them a little time to break in; and you'll enjoy these classics as so many have over the years. They're simply fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DiamondDave69 Awesome, Awesome Sheets
Am an admitted sheet snob and have had a set of RL oxford cloth sheets for years. The heavy weight of the fabric makes it perfect for the mostly mild winter months we have in Texas. With my existing set beginning to fray I started a search for new oxford cloth sheets. The first hit was Land's End and I didn't look back. I was hesitant to order as another reviewer discussed how paper thin the sheets were. I've had mine for over a month and such is not the case. While the fabric may not be a dense as the old RL set, the Land's End sheets simply are fabulous. Let's start with the fitted sheet. For once someone has designed a fitted sheet with copious amounts of room in the corner pockets. No struggling to get this on even the largest mattress. Kudos Land's End! The top sheet is also cut large and is truly square. Another pet peeve of mine. The pillowcases are large and there are four button closures instead of the three I had with the old RL set. They come out of the dryer a bit wrinkled but I don't mind hitting the pillowcases and flat sheet with an iron and a can of spray starch. When I make the bed it looks like it should be on the cover of a magazine. I only have three cons: First, like everything else the sheets are made in China. Would love to have seen the good ole USA represented here. Secondly, I bought the blue and white stripe and the color could stand to be a bit darker. That really is getting to be picky however. Third is price although I buy in to you get what you pay for. Bottom line, I like these sheets so much I'm placing an order for the same in solid blue to mix and match with the blue/white stripe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous218 I love these sheets!
I have been looking for almost a year for new sheets and finally found what I was looking for. These have a lovely weight and texture and, considering they are all cotton, came out of the dryer looking great. They are not completely wrinkle free but they are much better than other, more expensive sheets I have purchased in the past. I chose to have these monogrammed so I just ironed the hem of the pillowcases a bit and they came out perfect. The fitted sheet has plenty of room to accommodate my 18 inch pillow top mattress. I think the quality is excellent and have already ordered another pair in the solid khaki.

Until today I would have said these were the best sheets. We bought a queen set last winter and have loved them. We just upgraded to a king mattress and ordered a new set of the exact same sheets in the king size. What we got today is completely different from our original set. They are much thinner (almost see through) compared to our old thick ones and they have almost no texture to them. Customer service was great and offered to send another set, but it appears there has been a change in either the supplier or the specifications that is very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ellen88 These are the best sheets ever!
I had my eye on these sheets for a long time because of the great reviews. When I saw a good price on them, I decided to splurge (even at almost half off they are still pricey). They turned out to be the best sheets ever -- after sleeping on them only one night I am ordering another set in a different color. Even my husband commented on them (which is pretty unusual). If I had any criticism it would be that the blue stripe was more pastel than it looked on my computer. I would have liked it a little bit darker blue.

I recently purchased these wonderful sheets to replace my other Lands End sheets that I purchased over eight years ago!! Lands End products are tough to break down! I purchased new king size and queen size sheets. They fit excellent, the quality is magnificent, and they feel wonderful to sleep on. I don't get turned off by the price of your products because I know what I'm getting. My family and I will continue to purchase your home products as well as your apparel. Thanks for making such dependable products!

Love this set. The material is thick oxford. The monogram looks amazing and the buttons on the edges of the pillowcases are a nice surprise. Ordered the set in blue stripe, and then additional pillowcases in solid blue. Would love Lands End to offer more monogrammed items.
