Men's Wool Barracuda Jacket
Recommended, With Reservations...
I was really intrigued by the idea of this jacket; basically, a slightly dressier version of the classic "Baracuta" windbreaker. Unfortunately, it's not quite as cool in reality as it could have been in theory.
Some of the styling is great. I like the hybrid button cuffs/ribbed waist look, which is similar to the (kinda hybrid) G-9 I own (I don't mind elastic ribbing on the waist, but don't care for it in a cuff). And the color is a versatile "cool" charcoal grey ("warm" greys are tricky to coordinate). Some of the styling is not so great, like the decision to make the waist ribbing a contrasting black. This takes a big bite out of the theoretical "dressiness" of the jacket, making it look more like a varsity bomber than something you might wear over a shirt and tie.
Another potential problem is the fit. Harrington-style jackets are traditionally somewhat roomy (although fashion-oriented versions can be much slimmer). The chest and waist measurements are similar between this Lands' End version and my G-9, but the LE looks baggier when worn. This could be due to the weight of the fabric (wool blend vs. cotton), but the result is a bit more emphasis on the belly area than I prefer. If you have a pronounced belly, this might actually be fine for you. If you have a slight belly, like me, you might find that it gives the illusion of more than you're willing to take credit for. Otherwise, the fit is pretty good in the chest, and the arms are about right, too (assuming you're a Regular length). You don't really have to worry about the shoulders, as they are a raglan cut and are forgiving.
On balance, I like the jacket enough to keep it. It's a unique twist on a classic style, and you won't find many quality Harringtons at this price anyway (certainly not a Baracuta, which typically cost four times as much). I've gotten a few compliments on it, and it seems to be reasonably sturdy. I will probably end up taking it to my tailor, to see if he can trim down the middle a bit, but even if I don't it's still serviceable.

A very nice jacket
I've had two opportunities to wear this jacket on moderately cold wet days. I was warm and comfortable even with wind chill. The garment is very well tailored from a nice medium weight wool fabric. The size option offered by Landsend allowed me to order a medium with extra long sleeves Not easy to find jackets that fit me but here ya go!
Nice jacket, excellent tailoring, nice material, I'm very satisfied.

My husband likes it!!
I found this jacket on sale online and wasn't sure about getting it as my husband is very picky about his clothes. He needed a nice warm jacket so it ordered it. I was impressed that it looks like an expensive wool jacket. He is retired and it will work well for No. CA cold weather. It is versatile and can be dressed up or down. Very happy with this purchase for my husband and he is too.

Collar sticks out
This jacket looks very nice on the model and is well-made, but the collar has two tabs that stick out obtrusively if you want to leave it unbuttoned. My husband was very disappointed that it didn't work out.

Plan to return - did not fit properly
Bought the jacket for my son for Christmas, he loved the style on paper but did not like the fit when he tried it on. Sleeves were too loose, big and should have had a tighter wrist band similar to what was on the waist.

Good looking jacket
This wool jacket has a finer look than the nylon shell squalls, and I can wear it to a meeting, for it looks almost like a sport jacket. My jacket is navy. It's warm, and it fits me well, large tall ? I am 6'8". Its stark simplicity is elegant. The right part of the collar tends to stay up rather than lie flat, but I think I can train it to not poke my neck.

I purchased this jacket for my husband, but ended up giving it to my brother instead. The collar was too 'stand-up' for my husband, and was scratchy on his neck. My brother liked the style, and will use it more often, as he travels to areas where this heavier jacket might be worn. I purchased a Stormer jacket from LE for my husband. It is lighter in weight and is more to my husband's liking. Overall, this jacket is very stylish and of excellent quality...typical of Land's End products.

Excellent Dressier Jacket!
I ordered two of these one in grey, one in black for Xmas gifts. When they arrived I had people other than who they were for try them on - the fit runs slightly large, which allows room for a heavy sweater and/or sweatshirt. The sleeves run a little long, but my husband does not have long arms - 32" shirt sleeve. However, the quality of the fabric, the lining, the price and the style are excellent! The lining in the sleeves is silky, so sweaters slide in easily, no tugging to get the arm through. I am now reordering two more for the guys who tried the first ones on, they each want one now. What a nice alternative to wear when going to church, lunch, dinner, etc. instead of the good old faithful down jacket. Gives a dressier appearance and definitely adds a plus to any outfit it is paired with. This jacket is a winner! I may have to have the sleeves shortened, but a small price to pay for such a great jacket.

Perfect Fall Weight Jacket
I bought this jacket for my husband, who is 6 ft. 1 in. and about 220 lbs. The XLT fits him perfectly with a turtleneck and chunky sweater underneath. This jacket is great! He wears it with jeans and sweatshirts on the weekend, and with slacks and sweaters during the week. When the temperature is in the 40s, 50s, or 60, this is his go to jacket. It is a wonderful jacket and looks great with everything.
