Men's Waterproof Squall Parka
After 9years still looks great!
In 2004 I had a business trip to a rural area in Siberia. As it was Spring (March 21) I was led to believe that the weather would not be too harsh by then. I had no gloves with me and only a ball cap for my head. I did have my Squall Jacket and a wool sweater. The village I was staying in had a First day of Spring celebration -outdoors. The temperature was -19F! By the time I attended I had rustled up some wool mittens and a toque. And I was warm! My squall jacket and sweater were perfectly adequate. I still have the jacket and wear it every winter. It is light in weight, wind-resistant, and WASHABLE! I am out of doors every day hauling wood for the wood stove, feeding livestock, blowing snow, but the jacket still looks like new. I also wear it when we go out as I no longer have a topcoat ( hey, I'm retired!). Except for a down jacket I bought when living in Canada and still use occasionally but is too frayed and worn to wear in polite society, the Squall Jacket is the best jacket I've ever had.

Double Zipper is a nightmare, totally unusable
I bought this jacket for my son last year, as his college is spread out and he does a lot of walking outside to and from class and I wanted him to be warm. The jacket seems warm enough, but my son never wears it, he doubles up on a fleece and second fall jacket because the double zipper on the parka is such a struggle. He would sometimes get into it and not be able to get out, or try to zip it up and get stuck. I've tried to get him to just use the velcro and ignore the zipper, but the velcro opens up as he walks. I regret buying this parka.

I spent many weekends looking for a winter jacket for my husband -his old one needed to be replaced but my husband didn't like anything we saw in all the stores we visited. Finally, I saw this parka online and I ordered it thinking that if he didn't like it, my son who is in college could use it. My husband loved it right away. Then, I bought the same one for my son and he texted me everyday during the first week of using this jacket to let me know how warm and nice his jacket was. Both of them are very happy. The blue color is very nice. I ordered a smaller size given the reviews I read, and it's true, this jacket is roomy. My son and husband usually wear Medium in shirts and sweaters, but the Small size in this jacket fits perfectly. It has many pockets, the front ones are very handy and the side ones keep your hands warm although they could be a little deeper. This was a great purchase!

nice jacket except for double zipper issue
Overall a warm, quality jacket-note southeast Va does not get harsh winters-but comfortably worn in 25 degree weather. Have not tested the waterproof feature. Thinner sleeve lining does allow easy access as advertised. Am 6'2" 185, normally a size large in a jacket, this one is a comfortable fit although layering with a sweater would be a little too tight for my comfort. Fits tighter than my size Large in my LE classic squall jacket.
Despite customer comments to the contrary, I along with other customers found the double zipper an inconsistent issue and in my case, jacket was returned. Care had to be taken to align both zippers or the zipper would not function. Very aggravating and extremely time consuming versus other double zipper jackets that i have owned-LE includes ZIP instructions with packaging so obviously this issue has been problematic for some. Purchased in 2013- unless Lands End has rectified the situation with vendor, buyers should be aware that zipper operation can be potentially inconsistent.

Parka is warm and stands the cold and mixed weather of the northeast!
Fits well. Parka is warm and stands the cold and mixed weather of the northeast! This is the second time this parka was purchased! The last one weathered through 10 winters!

Great jacket for cold, wet days
I ordered this parker for my husband in navy, size large. He has worn it several times already and says it is warm and water resistant. The parker zips up easily and the sleeves are the perfect length. It's also dressier than his quilted down jacket from Lands' End.

The double zipper is too difficult to zip and unzip.
I have had the coat for a year, and although it is warm and it fits well, I am disappointed with it because It is so difficult to zip and unzip. It has a double zipper that must be perfectly aligned or it won't engage. I am considering taking the coat to a tailor and having another zipper installed.

warm but not waterproof
I was very excited to buy this last year when I saw it had been upgraded to be waterproof, but it started to leak after a few weeks or so of wear. It is still warm, but it is not waterproof. Of course, Lands End was willing to replace it and I will have to tell you how it goes.

Not warm, don't buy
This parka is a joke, I don't know what they use to rate its warmth, but the rating is useless.
A few years back, I bought a Land's End Parka which has kept me warm through the meanest Pittsburgh winters. Last year, it got some bleach stains during washing, so I bought this parka model last month to replace it.
The first thing I noticed is that despite having the warmest rating, this parka was half the thickness of my old parka. My wife said that maybe they were using a different material but it was probably as warm and I went along with the explanation.
Well, today it was 15F in Pittsburgh. I went out with my new parka, and I was COLD. Very cold. This never happened with my old parka. Luckily, I had not thrown my old parka away, and I just took my dog around the block using it. I was WARM. So big difference. I don't know what changes Land's End has made, but this parka is definitely not up to the standard of their parkas a few years back. I'll have to look elsewhere for parkas moving forward.
