Men's Traditional Fit SuperNatural™ Wool Suit Jacket
The material and construction is great. The patch pockets and stitching relegate it to a casual item, not suitable for busines.
The fit is good and the quality is good and made with 100% wool. I didn't wear it because I was looking for a business suit and it came in a casual motif with patch pockets and lapel stitching. It would make a good sport jacket worn with contrasting pants.

A Great Value and Quality
Apparently many of your customers are not familiar with patch and flap pockets on jackets and suits. They are (were) standard on a blazer and are regularly shown in English and Continental and American bespoke and ready-to-wear collections. One reason that we see them less frequently in the US is because they are more expensive to produce (fabric consumption and make). They may look casual, but they are more time consuming to make properly (matching). That makes these an even better value. They may not be Boardroom but they are great Sportcoats.

UGLY POCKETS - UGLY JACKET
The chest pocket and the two front side pockets look ridiculus. My decision to return the item was immediate when I took it out of the box. If this jacket were gifted to me, I would not wear it. It is just plain silly to put the pockets on the outside of a suit. "Casual suit?" A silly concept. Also, the feel was cheap.

The material and finishing are superior...
I received my Shitake Mushroom suit coat today, and my first impression is overwhelmingly positive. Compares favorably to RL stuff you can get at department store Men's Shop at twice the price.
The Super Natural fabric is impressive; the cut drapes nicely and is generous enough to conceal my middle-aged flaws in style. I'm using mine as a sport coat, to pair with jeans and khakis. The Glen Plaid pattern on the jacket is contemporary and the jacket represents a great value at this price point.
As a New Yorker exposed to fashion changes daily, I have no issue with the patch packet in front. It's where a pocket square and your glasses go, and several designers are now putting patch pockets on suits. The finishing details on this jacket are impressive for this price point. I have much more of an issue with the teeny, tight suits than the pocket. Don't let the pocket be a deal breaker; the wool on this suit stays cool, looks really sharp, and the cut is comfortably American. If you can find the pants in your size, a better value.. if not, you still get a superior sport coat.

Mind blowing that Land's End suit designer/buyer would think that pocket patches would sell!
I came online to buy a few suits. My Land's End suits have served me well. I've loved them! Can't beat the value. But now....forget about it! I sure hope somebody from Land's End reads these reviews because after seeing the breast patches and being totally turned off, I'm going to buy my 3 or 4 suits elsewhere, and these suits won't have silly looking patches. This is crazy! I'm so aggravated.

This coat is garbage. I have bought LE suits for 20 years and this is the end. This coat has PATCH POCKETS. Totally unacceptable in a business setting. The fabric is terrible. Not thin and light, but thick and rough.

Patch pockets on a business suit?
What's happend at LandsEnd? I have a ten year old Super 100 pinstripe suit that still draws compliments from bankers, attorneys, and judges. I finally retired my first LandsEnd suit from 1996 after I slashed the pant-leg. I was sad to see that one go. This suit looks like a buyer from Sears ordered it off the rack in Hong Kong.

Very Mad Men casual suit cut. Nice fabric. And I dig the metal zip on the matching trousers. Love that it's available in a short cut. Sadly, Lands End seems to be phasing this out in favor of crummier blended polyester-heavy stock, and only in Reg or Long cut. Sad, actually.

Agree with others: Patch pockets make this a no-buy
The fabric is great, and the cut pretty good, but the patch pockets make this impossible as a suit jacket. Bring back the previous styling!
