Nice shirt but too short
I really wanted to love this shirt. The material is nice especially now that it's getting warmer out. Sadly, I had to return it. Like the other reviewer mentions... it's just too short. The side gussets ride up and show bare skin (or an undershirt). Might work for short guys but not for me. Hope LEC returns to longer tails.

Quit with the gussets Lands End Canvas
Medium LEC shirts fit me like a glove (6'2, 180). I have no complaints about the fit of the shirt or the fabric. All that came as expected and was more than satisfactory.
The problem -- it seems to be a recent development -- and reason I will be returning is LEC's infatuation with "reinforced side gussets."
I ordered a long sleeve that had them a few months ago, and I wasn't thrilled but the change in the length of fabric on the sides wasn't extreme, which made it palatable. On this season's short-sleeve shirts, however, the gusset is very pronounced and comes up far too high, leaving a large/awkward gap between the front and back fabric of the shirt. This means I risk showing a lot of skin if I raise my arms at all and the shirt's shape simply looks goofy in my opinion. I knew it had gussets based on the description, but I didn't know LEC was going to make them even more exaggerated than before, which makes these a no go.
If gussets are your thing -- or you are a shorter -- you'll really like the shirt. I certainly would have worn them all the time (like my other LEC shirts) had they skipped the gussets and gone with a more traditional style on the sides as has been the case in the past. I'm very disappointed to have to return and hope LEC stops making their shirts like this.
