Men's Pleat Front Blended Chino Pants
Great Fit but Disappointed in Material
First time Lands End customer. I am having a real difficult time finding casual pants due to my long waist which requires a long rise in pants. Really appreciated Lands End putting pant dimensions on their site. Takes the guess work out of buying pants. I was looking for a lighter material chino with long rise and these seemed to fit the bill. Ordered material swatches first and the blended material looked to be right on. Really excited to get my pants and try them on.
Fit was a bit baggy in the thigh, but perfect as far as the rise went. Waist was great. Pants looked good although a little shinier than I had expected. They seem to be well put together and better than off the rack pants. My disappointment was in the material. I know that swatches are not a great indicator, but overall these pants felt really stiff and much thicker in material than I expected. I was looking for a light weight chino and reading some of the reviews there was concern that the material was not as heavy as expected. I am opposite in that opinion. For a blend it is much heavier than I expected compared to some of my other casual pants that are also a cotton poly blend. Undecided if these will work for me.

The quality has changed significantly and continually declines. I have purchased my last pair.

Surprised at all the negative reviews!
These pants are perfect! Nice light fabric. Well made & well tailored. They are a lighter fabric which is perfect for our hot summers. If you were expecting a heavier material, you would be disappointed. Also, based on all the comments on the large size, I did order one size down (35 instead of 36) for the Navy pants, which fit perfectly. (I do find a wide difference in sizing with Land Ends and other retailers. However, with the easy return policy, it is not an issue.)

From the moment I put these pants on they looked tired and shapeless. The quality is not up to Land's End standards. Or should I say that Land's End is lowering its standards.

Pants did not have same fit as other lands end pants. Waist was wider. Order 1 size down.
I ordered a 40 waist which my husband usually wears in the lands end pants. They were uncomfortably loose. Had to return.

My husband loves these
My husband is a health care professional. These are his favorite work pants. He likes the cotton/poly blend better than the 100% cotton. He is very active on the job and I notice that the bottom hem doesn't wear out as fast as his cotton LE pants. The metal zipper is just fine. They don't feel as heavy as the cotton pants I've purchased in the past, but he prefers the feel - a little lighter and a little more crisp. I never iron these. I pull them out of the dryer and hang them.

Big dropoff in quality between current blend chino and last pair ordered
1) Fabric thinner
2) Single button closure instead of 2 buttons or button + clip
3) No coin compartment in right-hand pocket
4) Metal zipper instead of nylon
But I would still find the pants satisfactory.

Quality cheapened in every regard
Very disappointed. My husband has worn LE slacks for years. These are poor quality in every aspect: fabric, metal zipper instead of nylon, seams no longer encased just zigzagged, hem just 1" and straight stitched instead of 1 1/2" and blind stitched, legs are narrower. All ways to save on production costs. This shall be THE LAST pair of men's slacks purchased from LE. Pants a wrinkled mess when removed from dryer. I washed them before he wore them as they were SO wrinkled when they arrived. I am happy to pay for a quality product, this is not even close.

nicely tailored chinos
These chinos were on sale so my husband chose them in khaki color with cuffs. He chose them because the fabric content of polyester/cotton was the same as his previous khakis and not the stiffer 100% no iron cotton.
He prefers a crisp look so they do require a bit of ironing, though. I whip them out of the dryer as soon as it stops so ironing is quick.
The legs and seat are trim and not too full, perfect on his build. He loves them and wears them for all occasions and does prefer them over his 100% cotton no iron chinos (which I think look too stiff).
