I recently order more 2 pairs of these after buying a black pair a couple years ago that I liked. Unfortunately since that first pair the lining has changed. Not only is the lining 2 inches shorter in the new pairs, it's a hemmed lining so the stitching chafes against your knees every time you stand up and sit down. I have never owned a pair of dress pants or suit pants in any brand that has this before. The lining is normally just cut with pinking shears so it's smooth. Fix this and I'll gladly buy some more. In the mean time these are going back.

These are high quality, formal dress pants. They are every bit as good as any suit pants you?d find with an expensive suit: They are wool (good, ?wooly? wool), they have the silk lining to the knees, and they even have suspender buttons. The one thing that is different about these pants from some others is that the wool is a little thinner. I guess that is why they call them ?year rounders.? And it?s true; I actually appreciate the thinner wool because it makes them more comfortable in the hot, Washington, DC summers.
That you can have them hemmed for free by Lands? End to any length is an added bonus!

Rated 2 out of 5 by NewvilleTK Not what I expected
In the past, my experience with pants from Lands' End has been excellent. However, after receiving these pants, I immediately returned them. The pants were the proper size and length, but the overall quality of the material was not what I expect from a Lands' End product. The fabric was too thin; certainly not worth wearing in winter. Too expensive for this type of thin material. Disappointing.

Perhaps mistakenly, I thought because the pants were wool, they would be warm enough for winter in New England. They were too thin, at least for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by THenderson The pants have too low a rise, and so they don't fit right.
Lands End asks that we review these things, and I keep saying the same thing, and nothing seems to change. Lands End dress shirts are great; they have maintained the quality. Their pants used to be great, but no more. They don't seem to understand that not every man wants to wear pants that hit you at below the waist. Even the pants advertised for hitting you at the waist do not--the rise is just too low. And the fit isn't what it once was. That has been true of the dress chinos for about three years now, and is now true also of these wool pants. Why do we write these things when nothing ever changes?

Rated 3 out of 5 by Habadagee inconsistent material and sizing
I have been buying these pants for years, but my most recent purchase of these in dark charcoal was disappointing. The material was thicker than usual - but the main problem is that the belt loops are bigger than normal making the belt fall lower on the pant and does not look good. Online clothing depends on consistent product design, sizing, and material. I hope Lands End realizes this. I will be returning these pants. I also ordered 2 other pants, same product but different colors (beige and blue) and they were find - material was the same and belt loops were the correct size. Oh well.

Being able to choose a hem length was crucial in our decision to buy from Lands End.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RogerN Different color fit differently
I order black and taupe in the traditional pleated year rounder. Oddly, the black fit perfectly but the taupe was too full in the crotch and rear end. The only difference I could discern was that the black were made in Jordan and the taupe in Bangladesh. I also ordered a pair of khaki dress twills which were even bigger in the crotch and rear end; they were made in India. Has anyone else experienced this?
