Good fit for slim guys
I read all the reviews before buying. I'm 6'3"/195# and these fit me well in a 35" waist. It is true that they are slim thru the seat and upper thigh. This works for me, but if you've got a bubble butt they may not fit you well. The fabric is not as thin as some would have you believe, but these are nice lightweight shorts. A good buy.

Comfortable shorts that have a great fit
Bought these shorts for my husband to wear when he's playing golf. It gets very hot & humid in the NYC area during the summer months. He is very happy with these shorts because they are lightweight & so comfortable. They look great too!

Good looking shorts
My husband was pleased with these shorts. Cut is good. True to size. Overall quality is good, although the inside button is ready to fall off after two washings. Washed well without fading. Could use iron touch up out of the dryer, but not worth the effort. Good looking.

Great looking, comfortable, and lightweight but certainly not cheap/mediocre in any way. I'm normally far too conservative to wear such shorts, but I really like these!

Ordered these for my husband and he really likes the madras shorts. He wore them and washed them - so far so good. Since they're all cotton I hung them to dry. I'm hoping the shorts keep their shape and don't bag out with more use or shrink with more laundering.

Thin material but look nice
These are a real thin cotton, so as long as your cool with that, they are pretty nice. The colors are a little more faded looking maybe in real life than the picture might indicate as well. They seem decently made for what they are. The ones I got seem to have a farily small crotch zone.

Look sharp and stylish for many occassions.
Very pleased with these shorts. I wear for golf and on local outings. My wife likes them on me.

Traditional Fit: Classic American Cut?
Why is this phrase used anymore to describe the fit of LE men's clothing? Over the last few years, the "Classic American Cut" has become a fitted or tailored cut?nearly everything at LE is cut slimmer or heavily tapered?more akin to a European cut. Who is dictating this change? An obscure designer? Certainly not the American consumer! I am beginning to question if there is any actual difference between "traditional fit" and "tailored fit". "Traditional fit" should be a full traditional fit! These shorts fit OK except from just below the waistband to the bottom of the pockets where the fit is cut too lean causing the offset pockets to gape unattractively, much like bargain store shorts. Atlas yellow plaid is a beautiful, traditional madras material ruined by a poor cut.

Fit is great
My husband wanted madras shorts because they are lightweight and you can't find them in the stores because they're not "in" at the moment. . The fit of these shorts is true to size for size 40 and because the rise is a little longer they sit more at the waist which is what he needs. That's why we like Lands' End because you give the customer a choice of clothes that "fit" which you can't find in most of the retail stores today!
