Men's Hooded Squall Jacket
great jacket.......going back. way too big
I ordered this jacket and it is well made. Delivered promptly and in great condition. The jacket is way too big. I have always worn a large, but this was the biggest large I have ever seen. This item is going back and I will try a medium. Hopefully I won't have to return it. I ordered some polo shirts a while back. All were larges and all fit differently. I love Lands End, but they should exercise better quality control in sizing.

Love This Jacket!
I ordered this jacket for my husband in the dark mahogany color, size Large. Fits perfectly and he can comfortably wear a hooded sweatshirt under it. The jacket keeps him warm and toasty even when riding on his motorcycle in the early morning hours. Color is really nice, and the details like the detachable hood, interior ribbed cuffs and the fleece on the inside of the collar make this jacket a MUST BUY. My husband loves it and wears it every day for work. I plan on purchasing another one for him to wear on the weekends. Lands End is my 'go to' for outer wear. No store in town can match the incredible price plus the superior quality.

I ordered this jacket for my son who is very picky and he likes it alot, good color and fit.
He is tall but thin and ordered an XLG. It fits him well and likes the non-static inside. He studies in a cold and rainy climate so the detachable hood is a great feature, too.

Best jacket ever
Brought this for my husband who is kinda on the skinner side and most jackets hang loose on him. This one fit perfectly. It's an awesome jacket for an awesome price.

Just Right Mid-Weight
An excellent jacket. I bought this for mid-weight use; I don't think it is really a hard-freeze jacket, more like 30-50F range, but it is perfect for my purposes. Everything is adjustable, including the (detachable) hood, for head fit and opening size. You can tighten the bottom of the jacket around your rear end to avoid drafts.
Sleeves have nice warm sweater-like lining at the wrists, plus wrist adjustment of the outer nylon shell.
Pockets are also lined with fleece, keeping hands nice and warm. One inner pocket in front.
Fit just right.
Already one of my favorites!

Very Good Jacket, But One Suggestion about Pocket
I just received this jacket and am very happy with it. It fits perfectly (which is sometimes an issue for me) and is warm as toast. One suggestion, however, for the designer who works on next year's version. The inside vertical zip pocket is nice, but I usually think of this as a supplement to (rather than replacement for) one or more interior breast pockets. I recommend in the strongest possible terms that you include these in an upcoming iteration of this coat. I am not saying that this is a reason not to buy the coat -- it's a great jacket and I'm glad I purchased it. But I would probably buy a second one next year, in another color, if there were more pockets inside (preferably with velcro fasteners).

Great effort at updating a classic
The fit did not work for me, unfortunately, but I love the jacket. I am athletic 16x34 - in between a M and L size. The Large fits well in the shoulders, but just has too much material in the body for me. The M, which I really tried to make work, fits great in the body but is just too tight in shoulders and the sleeves pull up when I reach. So I had to return this one. I wonder if the sleeves could be put together in a way that allows for more freedom of movement. This is a feature I've seen advertised on some of the more technical brands. Or perhaps LE could bring out an athletic cut version, similar to the trim fitting dress shirt line.
Otherwise the quality, styling, technical features, and value of this jacket are absolutely outstanding and make it a perfect all-weather jacket for conditions from cool to very cold and sport to casual to work attire.

I ordered this coat to replace the older model. I returned it because the sleeves were to long and all the Velcro on the front closure. My old coat has the flap under the zipper with no Velcro. BTW the older coat is 5 yrs. old or older and is still waterproof ! !

A few comments to add to those already posted: Yes, the hood is indeed insulated and not just a shell. As noted in the main description: "chinguard to prevent nips". If the wind is biting, I throw the hood over my head, zip up the front all the way to my chin/mouth, and I'm comfortably insulated with only my eyes and nose exposed. Adding to the wind break effect are the velcro flap over the zipper and the "interior rib-knit cuffs" at the ends of the arms. I didn't understand that phrase before I bought the jacket, but it's like they sewed an extra 4-5" of sweatshirt arm inside the jacket sleeves near the end so that you have a good tight fit around the wrists. I find I have to hold onto the ends of my sleeves when putting the jacket on because otherwise my shirt sleeves may pull up, but once I do that I have a very tight fit to keep the cold wind out. Excellent design in my opinion.

Great jackets/coats for boys
I keep buying Lands End jackets for my boys because the jackets are warm, fit well, the fabric is durable, they are machine washable and the price is reasonable. Bright colors for younger boys are easy to see.
