Rated 2 out of 5 by LarryYoung Not a replacement for the Deluxe Laptop Attache I had before.
I bought this as a replacement for my existing attache (part #194022CY4) since that model is no longer available. The strap clasp broke on my existing attache and also the outside of the attache is a bit worn (only got it in March 2014). The new attache is far inferior. The strap is a joke. It is not as roomy as my old attache. I will still keep it (since I have two laptops that I own) but I went and bought a true deluxe travelers attache from Everki (Versa Premium Checkpoint Friendly 16" Laptop Bag). Sadly I will no longer buy any laptop bags from Land's End in the future since it is clear that they do not know how to build sturdy laptop bags.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Zaphod Canvas. No Ripstop Nylon. Please.
My ticket of entry to comment here is that I have bought three of these over the years, and came here today to buy my fourth. But I won't be doing that this time.
The standard black canvas shoulder bag Lands' End made over the years was a singular classic. It was durable, attractive, and functional to the extreme, a real classy product. The business of my work day --I run a crew of high-end jet airplane mechanics-- is best served by (well, requires, in my view) all three of those aspects (functionality, credibility, and a visual appearance that implies solidity and quality).
I wore these bags hard, they served me well, and I had no problem coming here anticipating, and ready, to happily plunk down $100 for a new one. Now I'm seeing this Ripstop nylon pretender in its place.
I don't think so. I know Ripstop nylon, and it's fine as far as it goes, but it will not serve my particular needs. No I won't give it a shot. No it won't suit the demands of my work day. Yes, I can visualize precisely where and how it will fail & wear, and let me down. I know the demands of my service-use of your bags, as your product-design selection staff experts apparently do not. Funny thing: without even thinking about it, I guess I always kind of presumed they did, I guess. Not anymore.
So I'll be leaving the ranks of your customer base. If you ever decide to resume the production of sturdy, good-looking, useful heavy-duty canvas shoulder bags, I'll come back. But meanwhile I'll look elsewhere to get what I need. So long.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ktzee Very Disappointed
I bought this briefcase for my husband to replace his 10+ year-old Lands End briefcase that has traveled thousands of miles and stood up to heavy use extremely well. This briefcase was spacious and appeared to be made from the same sturdy, durable fabric as his older one. The negative was the plastic handle. It looked and felt cheap. The plastic was thin and the stitching sketchy. It definitely would not hold up to the heavy-duty use my husband puts his briefcase through. We were both extremely disappointed and decided to return it; something we rarely do with Lands End products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JohnOregon Great new briefcase
I replaced my 25 year old Lands End soft side briefcase with this new one with great trepidation. I suppose this is like what a lady feels like when changing purses. But, the new one is much more convenient with more pockets, plus a built-in laptop sleeve and a great little compartment for cables, etc. The construction seems as good as the old one while the convenience level is higher. I expect 25 years of service from it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kurl Good bag for the price
It was hard to tell how big it was from the pictures online, but it works well enough for what I want... Just wish the one pocket was slightly wider to better accommodate my lunch box

Rated 1 out of 5 by RichardFichera Good Size and layout, horrible handles and finish details
When I received the briefcase I was initially happy with the layout and he size, decent lightweight but tough fabric. But the handles are a joke - tiny, flat fabric handles with a skimpy trim covering that might be leather. This will be a very uncomfortable briefcase to carry when it is loaded. In addition the finish on the handle trim was embarrassingly bad, with lots of extra threads either bunched up or sticking out. I'll be sending this back ASAP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Theadoshia I have had no problems with it helps to carry my laptop and some important papers and easy to carry due to the shoulder strap.
I am very happy with the quality of this product. Also when I got it, it was even better than I thought it would be according to the pictures. I usually don't do a lot of shopping online due to you usually don't get what you expected but in this case I was pleasantly surprised. It is sturdy and has many compartments, also looks nice. Thank you
