LE Business Backpack
I use this to carry my laptop and files and I have to walk through NYC. I have arthritis and this has made my life much easier.

I purchase this to take on our cruise the first of January and it was a great help with all the pockets and holds a lot! It kept me very organized with all the paperwork and cruise documents that you have to carry.

sturdy but not stodgy
My daughter, a senior in High School, purchased this backpack for an overseas trip as her carry-on but also to use as a school backpack. She has deemed it "cool enough" for high school but it's definitely sophisticated enough to not look kid-ish. It holds a laptop easily and is quite roomy. A conservative packer could use it for an overnight bag and a laptop carrier all at the same time.

This is a fantastic business backpack. It is more professional than other backpacks on the market and is very well designed. From the description on Lands' End’s website, I wasn't sure exactly what pockets the bag had, so I will describe that here for other people: (1) there is a front pocket with a horizontal zipper. This is a good size for carrying notepads, a wallet, or lunch; (2) the second section has a zipper over the top and then multiple compartments inside. There is one larger sleeve, a smaller sleeve, and then in front of that, separate sections for pens, keys, etc. all in this zippered area; (3) on the front top of the bag is a small cushioned pocket that is perfect for cell phones. It is easily accessible, protected, and zippers so the phone will not fall out; (4) the next compartment is the main, large compartment of a bag. This fits a lot of papers and books as well as legal sized documents. There is enough depth for legal size documents to fit easily; (5) the last compartment, which is directly next to the carrier’s back, is a compartment just for laptops. It is cushioned and fits a laptop nicely. Laptops do not jostle around when in this section which helps when carrying a heavy load. It is nice that this is right next to your back when you have the bag on so that the weight doesn't pull you backwards; (6) there are two cup holders – one on each side of the bag. These are made of neoprene and keep your mug secure. This is better than the common mesh water bottle pockets because the coffee mug/water bottle (both fit) does not tip over when in the pocket.
I bought this bag because the amount I was carrying back and forth to work was too heavy for a shoulder bag. This bag has eased my back pain and made walking with books and a computer doable. The only downside to this bag is that there is a small chest strap that you cannot slide that up or down. It crosses me at the exact wrong spot for a woman, though it would probably work well for a man. I simply don’t use that strap and it does not get in my way, and I don’t find myself needing it, despite carrying heavy loads while pregnant and walking 30 minutes.

Lifesaver for business travel with mobility issues
Walking with two canes means I can't get through an airport with a wheeled laptop bag, and the amount of stuff I carry in a laptop bag precludes my carrying a one-shoulder model. I was facing a trip that involved four airports in nine days -- so I bought this. My 17" laptop, a huge number of peripherals, three pairs of eyeglasses (driving, computer, reading), passport case, order and invoice books, hairbrush and cosmetics, jewelry case, slippers for the plane, Kindle, two phones, three chargers, pens, business cards, and a change of clothes in case my suitcase got lost -- all fit nicely inside with room to spare. What a wonder of a backpack -- at a very reasonable price!

My boyfriend loves it
I bought this for my boyfriend, who decided to pursue an advanced college degree. He is very "techy" and says this is perfect for his books and gadgets. The backpack fits him very well, and stays secure as he runs from one class to another. Highly recommended!

Roomy, nice quality, good for business
- Nice professional appearance
- 2 large main pockets
- Padded straps
- Key holder
- Quality zippers
- Left strap is a little out of alignment and constantly falls off my shoulder
(1 star off for this)
Suggestions for improvement
- Top handle is a little too small
- Interior pockets for cables in the big compartments would be nice
- Padding in the bottom of the big compartments would be nice
Overall, a good looking high quality pack. I'll keep it for a while.

Very good executive backpack
I bought this backpack to replace my former backpack which was bigger and heavier. I like them to be all black and made of ballistic nylon. This one fits the bill nicely and is gentler with my back. It has enough space for documents you usually carry and of course, for a respectable sized laptop. My only two complaints are that it should have 2 or 3 more internal pockets for little things like pens, calculator, ipod, etc. Also, I'm not a big fan of the 2 side pockets which are made of elastic licra instead of ballistic nylon. I'm not sure they will last.

Great Product; terrible photos and description from LE
This is an awesome bag! I searched high and low, and even made another purchase before finding this gem. I purchased it solely based upon another review. LE's photos and description - epic fail! This wonderful bag has four sections, each for its own purpose. The laptop second is sturdy and well-padded. The interior area is very roomy, without being cavernous. The "top pocket" is a small, zippered area for stashing small things (keys and phone) that you want to access quickly and easily. Of course, this bag also has the LE organizational area, with a key lanyard, spots for pens, etc. The outer side pockets are not mesh fabric. They are made of stretch fabric which looks good, affords privacy and keeps items secure. This bag is perfect for professionals. It is more sleek than other bags, very reasonably priced and not too masculine for a petite professional and student. At 5'2", it is hard to find a bag which looks good and does not overwhelm. Great job on the bag, LE. It was hard to find on the website, however. The pictures do not accurately show the orange stitching and nice zipper pulls, either. It would be helpful to have pictures of WOMEN using bags, not just tall male college students. Women buy things as well, LE! More views of the sections would be helpful as well.

The Lands' End Business Backpack is an excellent product, and I highly recommend it. The bag is roomy without being overwhelmingly large, and the style is functional and professional but not boring. I use this bag every day for going to and from the office; it holds my computer, my purse, and my lunch with room to spare. I took it with me on business travel, and I had more than enough space for everything I needed to take on the plane - inclusive of medicine, a couple magazines, a book, and some snacks. The protective laptop pocket in the back is large enough to hold my laptop as well as the laptop power cord. I love the many pockets within the front zip around section; I was able to store multiple folders in there as well as my wallet without anything getting crunched. The side pockets are great for your cell phone, plane tickets, and/or a water bottle; they protect your phone and tickets - neither stick out. The top little zipper section is great for storing things like chapstick and/or a mouse. I had my bag monogrammed in orange, and it looks great; the orange thread matches the orange on the zipper pulls and the stitching near the zippers. The material is durable and easy to clean. I love this bag!
