Lakeland Cotton Cable Throw
This blanket is well made and very soft. Perfect!
I purchased 3 of these blankets as gifts and the quality was excellent.

warm and cuddly
I washed it on delicate, cold water and dried it in the drier with no problems. It's nice and long, warm and cuddly on my sofa when we have the air conditioner on--the vent blows right on me--and I'm looking forward to using it this fall and winter too. I bought the ivory on sale. It's a beautiful cable knit.

I loved this throw because is it 100% cotton. I recently moved my 3 year old to a new big boy bed and needed a throw for his bed. This one is the perfect weight and easy to wash. Very soft and the navy blue matched his room perfectly. Great throw for me when I read to him and he loves to curl up under it too!

This has secretly become my adult "blankie."
As someone who has searched and searched for the perfect throw for years, who has found beautiful wools to be itchy and scratchy, fleece to be too hot and stactic-y, and anything with acrylic to be cheap and pill-y - I have finally found THE ONE!! I'm an interior designer who wants thinks to look nice, but the practical part of me needs comfort. I love this throw. I've actually carried it with me from room to room because the cotton cable knit is so comfy. I'm also at that age where I'm hot all the time, but this adds warmth when needed, but also breathes. LOVE. <3

Nice size, perfect weight, and it's cotton!!
I had been searching for throws in neutral colors. Everything I found was polyester or acrylic. I always shop Lanes' End and was browsing the most recent catalog. When I came upon the cable-knit throw, I decided to order two of them. We love them. They're large and aren't too heavy or light. Being cotton is best feature for our family since we are allergic to man-made fabrics.

I like this throw a lot . Sometimes fleece can be too hot, so I bought this for those evenings when it's not freezing but just chilly. One thing I think is strange is that the label says dry clean only. It is 100% cotton, why would it need to be dry cleaned? I washed my throw in the washing machine, cold water, gentle cycle, then dried it on regular heat in the dryer. It came out perfect. So why the dry clean label? I bought this when it was on sale, I think the regular price is overpriced.

High Quality. Soft. Heavy.
I received a few weeks ago and have it draped over the sofa. The dark navy color adds just the right amount of color pop for my newly redecorated room. The quality of the cotton is great. The throw is actually pretty heavy. I love the cable pattern rspecially the border edge. it is very soft.
I had previously owned a LE cable cotton throw and after a very very long time and heavy use and many machine washings I had to toss it because of holes. I can tell already that this one will last for a long time as well. Will probably order the matching pillow cover soon. Don't know why it says to dry clean this though. Might at some point try to machine wash...just being careful not to over dry in dryer. Does anyone have any experience with this as yet?
This throw is lovely and I highly recommend the purchase.

Beware of unravelling
In a moment of indulgence last sumer, we ordered 5 of these throws for our new verandah. August nights can be cool at the cottage and the kids adore our older Land's End cable knit throws that we use in the living room. These Lakelands appeared to be a thicker cable knit and indeed have more weight to them which seemed to make them more suitable to be used outdoors, so we went ahead and splurged. We're only up at the cottage for two months a year and unfortunately a total of 4 month's use, between this year and last, has unravelled the edges on 3 of the 5 throws. As far as I can make out, the thread binding the edge of the throws is too thin for its overall weight and when stretched, snaps which causes the unravelling. Our older throws (sorry I can't find any product name, they just say Land's End Home) were made in Portugal and are machine washable and appear self-bound. They have a smaller cable running through them and have survived more than 7 summers and many a washing as they're cream coloured (the verandah ones are navy and dark red) and our kids would seem to especially enjoy eating chocolate chip cookies whist wrapped up in them! So I'd recommend that Land's End bring back the old type and would caution anyone considering ordering the Lakeland throw that they're not up to teen-age use and abuse.

When I first used this blanket at a 5-Star hotel in Italy I just assumed it was a handmade find from some remote mountain village. I was so happy to discover that I could order it online in the states that I got two! So comfortable and soft, without being too hot.
