Lakeland Cotton Cable Throw
I like this throw a lot . Sometimes fleece can be too hot, so I bought this for those evenings when it's not freezing but just chilly. One thing I think is strange is that the label says dry clean only. It is 100% cotton, why would it need to be dry cleaned? I washed my throw in the washing machine, cold water, gentle cycle, then dried it on regular heat in the dryer. It came out perfect. So why the dry clean label? I bought this when it was on sale, I think the regular price is overpriced.

High Quality. Soft. Heavy.
I received a few weeks ago and have it draped over the sofa. The dark navy color adds just the right amount of color pop for my newly redecorated room. The quality of the cotton is great. The throw is actually pretty heavy. I love the cable pattern rspecially the border edge. it is very soft.
I had previously owned a LE cable cotton throw and after a very very long time and heavy use and many machine washings I had to toss it because of holes. I can tell already that this one will last for a long time as well. Will probably order the matching pillow cover soon. Don't know why it says to dry clean this though. Might at some point try to machine wash...just being careful not to over dry in dryer. Does anyone have any experience with this as yet?
This throw is lovely and I highly recommend the purchase.

Beware of unravelling
In a moment of indulgence last sumer, we ordered 5 of these throws for our new verandah. August nights can be cool at the cottage and the kids adore our older Land's End cable knit throws that we use in the living room. These Lakelands appeared to be a thicker cable knit and indeed have more weight to them which seemed to make them more suitable to be used outdoors, so we went ahead and splurged. We're only up at the cottage for two months a year and unfortunately a total of 4 month's use, between this year and last, has unravelled the edges on 3 of the 5 throws. As far as I can make out, the thread binding the edge of the throws is too thin for its overall weight and when stretched, snaps which causes the unravelling. Our older throws (sorry I can't find any product name, they just say Land's End Home) were made in Portugal and are machine washable and appear self-bound. They have a smaller cable running through them and have survived more than 7 summers and many a washing as they're cream coloured (the verandah ones are navy and dark red) and our kids would seem to especially enjoy eating chocolate chip cookies whist wrapped up in them! So I'd recommend that Land's End bring back the old type and would caution anyone considering ordering the Lakeland throw that they're not up to teen-age use and abuse.

When I first used this blanket at a 5-Star hotel in Italy I just assumed it was a handmade find from some remote mountain village. I was so happy to discover that I could order it online in the states that I got two! So comfortable and soft, without being too hot.

We ordered this for a Lake House rental; customers to cozy into when the day calls for some downtime. It is like a welcome comfortable sweater to wrap up into and loose yourself to the pages of a great book. It fits perfectly.

Love the chunky cotton print. Cute for throwing over a sofa. Is not as soft as my other blankets for using, so I keep it more for decoration. But I love it!

almost the perfect throw
I really hesitated to purchase this throw for 2 reasons, the cost and the dry clean only label. I really try to avoid purchasing things that need dry cleaning. Anyway, for some reason I was very, very, tempted by the looks of this throw and decided to go through buying it., as it looked absolutely divine, and boy, it sure is!! Everyone at home wants(&fights!!) to use this throw. It is really quite cozy and really warms you and makes you feel as if you are wrapped in a great big cozy sweater!! My son wants another one for himself, and I was trying to convince him to get a different & much cheaper cable throw at another major homestore, and he was not convinced. He would rather me get him the Landsend Lakeland throw, as it much more comfy and substantial. I probably would have purchased more, if the dry cleaning wasn't an issue and given it 5 stars plus!!

Perfect for my surgery recup
Just had surgery a week and a half ago and have been using this throw every day since. It's a perfect size to cover my toes and go all the way up to my neck (I'm 5'8") and is soft and cozy.
I'm giving it 5 stars in spite of the fact it needs to be dry cleaned. I too (as did another reviewer) noticed after the fact that it was not washable and kicked myself. But because I'm enjoying it so much, I'll put up with that inconvenience.

I love this throw! It's heavy, thick, warm, beautiful and well-made. The quality is fantastic. It really looks great as an accent piece in my entryway, and feels great for napping!

Thick enough, long enough ... and washable!
Huge improvement over the previous cable-knit, cotton throws I've tried. I definitely recommend!
