Girls' Waterproof Squall Parka
This jacket is perfect for the winter months in the Northeast.
I bought 3 of these coats for my triplet granddaughters. They each were able to get their favorite color and are very happy with the coat. The fit is just right. The jacket is made of a very sturdy material. The girls love the sleeve-cuffs and the EZ zip tabs. The coat is an all-around winner with the girls.

not nighttime reflective feature
being a child's coat I assumed that it would have those reflective safety features that have been on every other child's coat I have ever bought from Lands End, it does not. Would not ever buy another coat without that feature. Fabric good, size good, safety not figured into product.

Great winter jacket!
We live in Maryland and bought this jacket during the numerous snowstorms that hit our region. This jacket was perfect for outdoor play time (sledding especially) keeping my daughter warm and dry. It does run a little big.

sturdy, warm, love the mitt-sleeves
We love this coat! It is well-made and sturdy. I expect it will last next year as well. (We ordered it a little big; the 5-6 is a bit big for a four-year old.) It is warm, it stops the wind, the snow, and the cold, and the mitt-sleeves are great.

I bought these for my grandkids for this winter and they loved them.I wanted to purchase them to put away for next winter, but sizes were only available for my granddaughter. They did NOT wear out, I just wanted them to have one for school and one for play. They look as good as the day they started wearing them.I will order one for my grandson this fall.

This coat arrived in perfect time for the big snow and extremely low temperatures. My granddaughter said it really kept her warm and it truly is waterproof. She stayed warm and dry and has gotten compliments on the coat as well. I will definitely order this coat again in the future when she outgrows this one! I highly recommend this coat - it's very warm yet not a bulky coat at all.

This is the 3rd squall parka for our family. The first two have worn VERY well. We have gotten 2-3 years of wear from each one.

Jury is still out, but better than retail stores
I bought the size 5-6 Little Girls Waterproof Squall Jacket for my granddaughter two years ago--and she wore it for two winters. The grow-a-long sleeves feature is a super one. This month I bought the Size Small 7-8 Girls Waterproof Parka--for an outstanding sale price, I might add. What she loves about it: the vibrant fuschia color, the SnowGuard cuffs with thumb holes that still allow for gloves, the front double pockets and the small chest pocket for "secret stuff", and the easy zipper. What the grown-ups like: the longer length of the parka for waiting on the school bus and sitting on cold seats, the the warm fleece upper lining with quilted bottom section that allows easy movement, the adjustable fleece-lined hood, and the quality of the waterproof fabric. The parka has so far, in this frigid Pennsylvania February, proven to be warm enough for below 20 degrees, and allows for layering with the fleece vests and sweatshirts for added warmth. However, I have a few main disappointments that caused the 4-star rating over the perfect 5. Biggest surprise: The reflective piping that was a safety feature we loved in the older jacket is gone and replaced by a miniature lighthouse decoration on one sleeve. I highly recommend restoring the front and back reflective features in some way. Sadly, the interior top pocket is gone, but was a good spot for small personal items. The most important problem I see is also starting to bother my granddaughter: the change to all Velcro fastenings along the zipper--no snaps anymore--catches not only knitted gloves and extra scarves but also catches and knots her long hair. If we fasten the Velcro high up near the neckline, she is uncomfortable. The unfastened Velcro holds so tightly to her braids and ponytails that she loses strands of hair with every wearing. Question: Is there any easy fix you could suggest for covering that Velcro, especially the neck strip? Please continue to offer these wonderful winter coats, but consider restoring the missing features before next season.
