Girls' Waterproof Squall® Parka
Warm and comfy!
This was an exchange from a 4-in-1 kids jacket that Lands' End no longer carries. A snap broke off the other coat and they were true to their word, a fast no hassle return/exchange! Warm and comfy were the words my 9 year old used to describe this new coat. And we need warm in upper north east. It's not bulky either, which is a real plus when we are usually having to fight to get a jacket on our child; the very same child has enjoyed wearing this coat since it arrived. With the extendable sleeves I believe we will get at least 2 winters out of this parka.

Warm and Dry
This 2013/2014 Winter was brutal. Last year I purchased a coat with the extended sleeves and boy did it come in handy. This year I am betting my money on the Girls Parka. My daughter is a little older at age 11 she's wearing at 14 and sometimes a 14 plus. The grape color is great she is still a little girl all the while it keeps up with her growing and when we travel between New Jersey which is really cold and Atlanta. This coat will probably go skiing before it sees any real cold weather. I functionality of the coats at Lands End are great You will just love this coat for any age!

Waterproof, windproof, utterly fantastic jacket for a truly wicked Canadian winter.
This is the first time I've bought this coat. We've had the coldest, snowiest Canadian winter I can recall. This jacket has been utterly fantastic.
The snow cuffs on the hands took some getting used to (a week maybe). My daughter has been so warm and dry this winter, I have to drag her off the snow hill after school, even when it's -25 Celcius with the windchill.
I am especially pleased with the fabric. I took a chance and ordered this online when I found that the coats in stores this season are made with flimsy fabric that would not be water or windproof. The exterior and hood on this coat make it fantastic. My daughter grows slowly, so I'll get 2 years for sure out of this coat. Next year I will buy one for my son.

Nice coat...a little bulky
I really the whole Squall waterproof line! We have the shorter Squall jacket, the stadium length coat from last year too and added the Parka length jacket this year when the longer stadium coat wasn't available. As nice as the parka is, we found it a bit bulky with snow pants and not long enough when snow pants weren't worn. I'd really prefer to see the wonderful Squall stadium coat come back again next year. Shorter jacket to use with snow pants and the stadium length for added warmth when snow pants aren't worn. The stadium coat is always my daughter's favorite (because of the length) when she not playing in the snow. It's been perfect for this Wisc. winter when the temps have been well below zero a lot. Keep these wonderful Squalls coming and please being back the stadium coat, too!

Great coat! Great Price!
My 9 year old loves her new coat! It is waterproof, warm and comfortable. Roomy enough for a sweater underneath but still warm enough without one. The blue color is lovely. The adjustable waist cinch inside the coat keeps out drafts.

She was the only warm body during this cold snap!
I bought this coat with the matching pants, gaitor, hat, and mittens for my tall, skinny 3 year old daughter, who was wearing anything in the 3T to girls size 4/5 range, after she outgrew her OKBG set, in size m 5-6. It was our first WYO winter so I was very nervous about her getting cold on our treks out of the house. It was a little big (ok, a lot big) at the time but she liked it, it was functional, and I liked that I may just get 3 winters out of it. This is the second year she is wearing it. It is still in perfect condition as she closes in on 4yrs old and wears a size 5 for length in most things, and this is still a little big without having to use the grow along seams. She very much likes her LE gear. This week we got an Arctic cold front and it has been miserable. We made a quick run to the store before the snow fell; it was 14 degrees out. Wearing only her boots (not LE but rated for -10), Squall parka, matching hat and gaitor over her footed jammies she was the warmest out of the three of us. I was wearing a long sleeved shirt, fleece jacket, hunting jacket, hat, gloves, boots, and thick jeans and nearly froze. My son has another reputable outdoor company coat that is supposedly really warm with lined jeans, hat and boots. His little teeth were chattering from the car to the doors. It struck me how significantly inferior his gear was so I came home and ordered him the boy version of this gear. I cannot recommend this gear enough. I think I ought to note that I measured my daughter with a cloth tape measure and compared to the provided sizing chart before ordering and didn't trust solely in the label sizing.

Love the color, love the coat
I am pleased with this coat. I like the color, which was my biggest worry--the colors are bright and cute. I love that the coat is very warm, the hood seems to cover really well and stays up over her head. I plan on using about the grow along option and I hope this coat will last for two seasons, we'll see ;) I got the 2T size and she wears a 2T in her other clothing, it seems to fit just right. I like that it has the thumb holes so she doesn't have a gap when I put gloves on her. The coat is cute, and distinctive (none of the other kids have the same coat as her) which I like so I can easily spot her when she's playing with other children.

These are very nice coats, but watch the sizing. One daughter wears a size 8 and one wears a size 10 in regular clothing. The sales associate recommended the M 10-12. It fits the size 8 perfectly, but the size 10 daughters is a little tight.
