After debating between the stormer and the squall sets, we bought the stormer jacket and bib snowpants for our 6 year old last year. We have had a few squall sets, and they have been warm and durable. However, we/she liked the pattern/colour of the stormer better than the plainer squall sets. A bit concerned about the lighter material and the lower cold rating, but still assured of LE quality, we reluctantly bought the squall. As soon as it arrived, I regretted our choice. It is definitely much lighter than the squall sets we have bought in the past, and at times, she complained that she was cold when wearing it. The material seemed to absorb water more than repel it when she was playing in the snow. Worst of all, because the pants were a bit long on her, the cuffs tore and frayed within weeks of her wearing them. We found the cuffs on the jacket also began to wear very quickly, and our kids are not hard on their clothes! I am hoping that we can have the snow pants hemmed when the time comes for our other daughter to wear this set. Not the LE quality I was expecting.

Good quality and does the job well. Granddaughters love the Girls' Stormer Snow Bibs. Will keep your child warm playing in the snow.

These snowpants are the only snowpants I buy my girls. They last and can be passed down from kid to kid. They keep them warm and dry and they love them.

Fits true to size on my daughter. My daughter wears a sz 7 in most pants and I had ordered her the bibs in a sz 7. They are very warm and durable as my daughter plays in them daily at recess and they still look brand new!!!

My 3 year old loves to play outside in the snow. We can not get her to wear anything too bulky and this was just what we needed warm and it fit perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by melicious Excellent snowpant, durable.
I was pleased to find this product available in my daughter's size after she ripped a pair from a local chain store. The Stormer Snow Bibs are well constructed and have reinforced material at the knees and seat. We haven't had a full day of snow play out of them, but I'm hoping that the water-resistant claim holds up without having to upgrade to a true water-proof pair. I like the fabric used on this style and don't want to have to switch to a pair with scratchy, thick, water-proof material.

Rated 4 out of 5 by VAMom11 What happened to the Grow-a-long feature?
I just bought another pair of these for my younger daughter after buying these last year for both of my girls. They didn't get a lot of use this year, but they are very well made and kept them warm and dry. However, the Stormer pants I bought last year had the Grow-a-long feature, and this version does not! Good thing I bought them two sizes larger than the one she is wearing now so she can get a couple years out of them...with the Grow-a-long feature the ones she is currently wearing will also fit her next year (and they were cheaper).

Rated 4 out of 5 by BusyWithSix Great fit- keeps my daughter warm and dry in the snow
These snow bibs are a great fit and have kept my daughter dry, thus far, in the little snow we've had. The only downside to this product is they don't seem as sturdy as a slightly older pair of LE snow bibs that my son wears (w/ the iron knee/seat feature). They also lack zippers at the ankles like older pairs. Best feature is that they are definitely warm! The worst complaint from my kids is that they've gotten too hot; the bibs make it easy to unzip their coat for more ventilation (or take the coat off), without getting snow up against their skin. Good elastic around the gator-style cuffs- no issues getting boots on/off and elastic over snow boots (although zippers would make it a bit nicer). Lands End quality is still good enough, though, that I am willing to make the investment, as these should last long enough for younger siblings to benefit as well when they become a hand-me-down. Would have given five stars, except the overall quality does not seem to be as good as older pairs.

My daughters play hard outside for a long Montana winter and then more snowy time in the summer sledding and camping at high elevations. These pants are constructed to last and are very warm. I can hand them down between my girls and even after 2-3 years of wear they are in good enough condition to hand down to a cousin. I love that the knees are reinforced and that they grow. We've bought two pairs so far and they won't be our last purchase. My girls are both small-ish and definitely wear a size smaller than normal in this product.

The 6 fits my 6 1/2-year-old granddaughter perfectly. She is slender, so I would recommend a size up, if your child is big for his/her age. She took them out of the package, slipped them on, zipped them up, and was ready to go! As we walked to the barn to do chores, she told me her legs were really warm - it was 3 degrees outside! With her squall mittens and squall parka, she was very comfortable in the frigid air. Her toes got cold after about an hour. Next purchase? Land's End boots!
