Girls' Pencil Fit Stain Resistant Stretch Chino Pants
First Time We've been Disappointed
My daughter has always worn true to size clothes. We ordered big with these and they shrunk up so much they are not usable anymore. They are too tight in the waist, too short, the legs are tight. We are so disappointed. Three pairs of pants, 2 months into the year and they need to be replaced.

Shrinks and length offered is NOT long enough
We always buy LE pants for uniform pants - they last a long time, have a nice finish, and a realistic fit. This year we decided to try the pencil fit for fashion reasons. My daughter wears between a 8 and 10, so we went up to a 10, no problem there. She is at the 45 percentile for height and her inseam measured 25, so I added 3/4" for longevity. While there is a note to add 1 1/2" for junior sizes, there is no such note for big kid. They have shrunk a full 1 1/2 inches! So now they are actually too short!. And, if I do add 1 1/2" inches, I can't order the pants, because they are only offered up to a 26 inch inseam, which makes no sense, because we have LE jeans and corduroys in size 10 and they have a 25 1/4 and 25 1/2 inch inseam. So LE, do the math and understand that you need to at least offer the uniform pants in a size 10 up a 26 3/4 inch inseam to be on par with the other pants that you offer in a size 10.

great value! you won't be disappointed
I bought these uniform pants last school year for my very busy 8 year old daughter. Even though they are now on the short side, she still wears them and they look great- they have no holes, no stains, no ripped seams or hems.. and this is after wearing and washing them at least once a week for 1.5 years. The button hasn't even needed to be re-sewn!

Would be great if longer in rise
The quality of the fabric and construction of these pants is great--just what I expect from Lands' End. However, I don't understand why fashion dictates such low-rise pants these days that they don't even begin to fit my daughter from her waist to her bottom (she is right on the 50th percentile on all growth charts for her age). I was disappointed because I have always been able to count on Lands' End for classic styling, no matter what the current fashion trends.

Inseam options are extremely helpful
This is a very nice pant with a great style. My daughter is very slim so the inseam options helped these fit. We were able to order the correct size for her weight and select the unfinished hem so they'd be long enough. (They're available in hemmed lengths that are longer than the typical inseam length for each size but that wasn't quite as long as she wanted them.) I imagine the large range of hem lengths in each size could also help these fit broader bodies, too.
Regarding the comment below, it's difficult to imagine these in a slimmer fit. They already have a cut that's slimmer overall compared to LE's traditional fit pants. (They might be a bit big in the waist on some slim kids, depending on body shape.) We also tried the slim fit option of the Plain Front Stretch Chinos and these have a slimmer fit overall, not just in the lower legs.

need more sizes
I haven't ordered this product because it isn't offered in Slim sizes. I have an 8 year old girl that wears a 7 Slim waist and needs 24" -24 1/2 " inseam. Yes, she's a "skinny minnie" who is quite athletic and eats healthy. She wears a narrow shoe as well. There's a whole segment of girls that you are missing on your clothing line. And all the girls in her 3rd grade class are skinny minnie's too as well as most in our neighborhood. Please add a line for them.
I love the pencil leg and plain front style.
