Toddler Girls' Party & Play Mary Jane Shoes
So cute, but...
My daughter's school requires these shoes for her uniform. School started August 9th, and by mid-September I had to return them. The suede came off the toes, and the tread on the heel & toe was gone. Also the edges of the straps are frayed (little white strings are hanging from the edges.) The shoes are NOT worn at recess or at PE. I exchanged the shoes for a new pair (what are my options? It's required by the school!) and now it's time to return those too. I don't know how long a 6 year old should get out of a school uniform shoe, but I can't afford to replace shoes every 2 months. If these were strictly church shoes, we wouldn't have a problem with them. They are comfortable (per my daughter) & sturdy. But as a uniform shoe, no way. Not for everyday use. Sorry, Lands End. I usually love everything, but this shoe is just not good quality.

Extremely poor quality
We had this same kind of shoe (a Mary Jane) from LE last year, but they have obviously changed manufacturers. After less than one month of wear, the sole had come halfway off of one shoe and was beginning to come apart from the other. Very disappointed in LE. Although I'm sure I won't have any trouble returning them, it was a major problem for my daughter who needs a uniform shoe each day. This pair just became unsafe to wear, and we didn't have a back up. This goes along with a trend of decreasing quality overall. We've been buying uniform clothes for 5 years from LE, but I'm beginning to look elsewhere for some things. Items just don't hold up like they used to...

toe does not take wear
very cute shoe, but poor quality. Bought for my 3 yr old granddaughter, she wore once and the suede of the toe cap has worn off.

Great Shoe for little ones!
My daughter has had several pairs of this shoe and they are wonderful. They are hard wearing and last a long time. They are stylish enough to be worn with everything, even the dressy of dresses. When my daughter was accepted into a school that required uniforms and mary jane shoes, I knew exactly where to go.

Like the old version better
This newer version of LE Mary Jane shoes fit true to length and width for my daughter. They are good, but the older version from a couple of years ago was better according to my 9yo daughter. Those were her favorite shoes! The new shoes are somewhat stiff compare to the old (overall and especially in the back), and she doesn't care for "improvements". The old shoes lasted until she grew out of them, not sure about these. Should have bought the older version of these shoes in sizes to grow into when LE decided to "upgrade" it....

My daughter literally eats her shoes, and this one lasted 3 months, the longest any shoe has ever lasted with her. The fit was perfect, I did not find it too narrow at all, and she loved choosing from so many colors!

Not as Sturdy as Old Model Mary Jane
We loved the old model with the reinforced toe. This new mary jane shoe is much more dainty. The trim around the ankle was already not well sewn when my first pair arrived; we exchanged that at Sears. Now two days after wearing the second pair, the trim around the ankle is beginning to fray. It's just not as good quality as the old mary jane - please bring that back.

Prefer Old Style
I have bought these shoes for years. The lack of rubber toe guard caused the patent on these shoes to rub off in a few weeks with normal wear. They now look shoddy. They should be called "party" shoes only, not "party and play" shoes. Much preferred the older style and will probably not purchase this style again.

I buy a version of these shoes in multiple colors every year. They go with every thing from jeans to dresses. My only wish is for a reinforced toe, as my daughter plays on her knees often and the toes get
scuffed up. This year's version is a little dressier - I happen to prefer the wider strap for play, but my daughter loves these. A definite good buy.

These shoes can take a beating
I bought these shoes in the black patent leather a year ago for my granddaughter. On day one she wore them to the park. While I had thought they would be for dress, they were and continue to be her favorite, go to shoes. She has big, fairly wide feet. I bought a 12 W thinking they'd be too big. They weren't. They do run narrow as others have said. Late last fall I ordered a pair of 1W because there was no 13W. They were way too big, but her folks put them aside. I have watched all winter for LE to make a 13W in the black patent shoe but they never have. My granddaughter really needs to get out of the 12 W but I don't want suede. She is so hard on most shoes. Please LE, make size 13W black patent leather mary janes.
