Girls' Down Parka
Ordered the pink color, should read the previous review before I order, the pink is the SHOCKING NEON PINK, cannot even look at it for long, good point you will always be able to identify your child amongst hundreds and thousands of children because of this color. Actually the design and fitting is quite ok, here comes another problem, I understand it's down parka, but no need to smell like the stinky duck farm in order to prove that, it really smells, because I am the customer from abroad, not able to return it with free shipping, no choice have to keep it, trying to put some mild fragrance paper in the dryer in order to get rid of the awful smell, don't know whether it works. Disappointed on this item, it's the only thing I can say.

Thin as can be and NO warmth at all!!!
Just received this coat today and was seriously disappointed at how thin it was. Maybe this coat was tested for a mild Floridian winter, but this coat will not keep your child warm for a cold northeast winter. I have no idea about the down count in this coat, but basically all I could feel when I felt this coat was the outside and the lining and NOTHING in between, so basically just 2 THIN layers. I was really hoping to purchase a warm coat for my daughters, this year, but I don't think I will find what I am looking for at Landsend, this year.
I wish Landsend's did not offer DOWN in their coats. I should have learnt my lesson from a few years back, when I bought myself a down coat from Landsend, washed as directed, drying it with tennis balls in the dryer. The coat was never the same. In this coat, however, I can't even feel any type of filling, just the outside layer and the lining.
Please. Please, just make this style coat or parka, like you did for adults. But use the lining that you used in the Landsend" insulated SQUALL Parka" that I have had for years. Those coats were the warmest things ever. And I know winter has officially set in when I finally wear it. In the down coats, the down just doesn't stay in place.
Otherwise, this children's coat is NOT for temperatures, under 60 degrees . The style has great potential. It just needs a serious improvement overhaul in the warmth department...

This is a great coat. I bought one for each of my girls. It is very warm and the best part is that is it long, unlike most girls winter coats these days. It is a very flattering cut, as well. My only complaint is that in the past Land's End has offered it in a bunch of colors. Last year there were many more options! This year, just TWO? COME ON, LANDS END! This is the best winter coat you sell! Give us some colors!

Really nice blue
We just got this coat so my daughter hasn't had a chance to wear it, it's only august. However, the color is very pretty. It's not shiny at all which in the picture it looked like it was. It's a mat finish. The little pockets and contast seams are very nice and stylish. She loves the coat. She really liked the soft liner in the inner arm openings. She is 7 about to be 8 in a few months. I ordered the big girl small and it fits very nicely, a little big, I even had to roll up the outer sleeves which is ok. It will definitely fit through this year and maybe next. I hope it's super warm we'll see!

Daughter thinks its a cool coat!
Personally I love the HOT HOT PINK coat for my toddler. Its a very light and warm coat but it does run big. My daughter is pretty petite so I hesitated based on other reviews of it running big and just went with her mesurements - I should have listened to everyone else. Its definitely big. I'm not returning it because they no longer have this color in a smaller size so it will serve for another year. So listen up... this coat runs big so go a size smaller.

My daughter picked out this coat after looking at other land end's coats online. Yes, she went for the bright orange. Bright colors seem to be popular now. My daughter is very slender for a nine year old. We ordered the 10/12 size. It fits great with growing room which is a plus in my book. I like that land end's coats are basic without extras such as belts, buttons, and embellishments. Also, warmth is an important factor which some in the coat industry seem to have forgotten about our children needing warm attire such as coats, gloves, and mittens. Thanks Land's End!

Love this coat!
Stylish and warm, the "electric crimson," as noted here, is really more of a neon coral (in the orange family), than red. My daughter loves it for its color, I love it for its on-sale price and details: navy and white contrast stitching, some nice seaming, on-trend pockets. About the sizing: it does run a little big, but since my 10 year old is not particularly skinny it fit perfectly (whereas in most things we need a 12, and in skinny jeans we have to go to 14). As far as the sleeves go, they are a _tad_ long, but not ridiculously so. There are hidden, elasticized cuffs that take care of that issue very nicely. Overall, I was so surprised with how well this fit, and how good it looks -- slenderizing! - and how warm it keeps her, that I am contemplating buying one in blue for next year.

It IS as orange as a traffic cone, but...
we loved it! It is very bright and stands in a crowd! Everyone compliment my daughter on this parka and ask were did we get it. It IS very thing though but feels warm anyway. My girl is almost 10 and size M (10-12) is making parka looks like a coat (sleeves long too). Overall we are very happy with our purchase!

Don't buy if you don't like glaring neon pink color!
The picture does not reflect the incredible brightness of the electric pink color and I am disappointed I bought it. I was hoping the pink would coordinate with the pink color on the fleece pom hat but NO! I am returning this jacket immediately and won't be trying the electric crimson after hearing someone state that color is NOT red, but ORANGE and I can only imagine how awful!

It's not red; it's ORANGE.
Very disappointed. I don't know HOW this jacket could have retailed originally at $110! It's very thin and the picture makes it more sturdy than it actually is. The color is terrible in natural light! As orange as a traffic cone.
Also, it runs really big. I have a daughter who is 49" and typically wears a size 6-8 in girls' sizes and this coat fit her perfectly. TOO BAD this coat was purchased for my 5 year old who DOES where a size 5 usually. It was BIG on her.
