Rated 2 out of 5 by BarbaraDelaware Very disappointed in this skort!
First off, I would like to start by saying that I buy almost all of my family's clothes from Lands End. However, this skort is a huge disappointment! My 7 year old petite daughter has ripped out the back of every single one of her LE uniform skorts. The problem is that the skirt is very narrow all the way down. If your child likes to just sit still during recess she may not have this problem. If your daughter likes to run, climb and be active, then I would steer clear of this skort. The entire issue could be fixed by having a few pleats around the skort. That way, the skort is not so narrow around the knees. My daughter is not hard on clothes. I don't think it is unreasonable to assume that a little girl would want to play during recess.

by BusyBee4ever Incorrect sizing- quality control problem.
Purchased 2 skirts, a classic navy and a khaki, for my very slim 10- year -old daughter, she was so excited to try on the khaki first. The waist is still too big, the length is not long enough, 1 inch above her knee. Well, she still likes it and I am happy to keep it. The problem came up when she tried the classic navy, (same order, same size 8 slim only different color) it's narrower and about 1.5 inches shorter than the khaki one!!!!!!!! Why is that? I am afraid when I order any other color I will get the wrong size again. Land End uniform is required by the school, my daughter has worn navy jumpers for 5 years since she is too slim to wear skirt. Now, she is happy with this khaki skirt but she can't have the navy one! Don't know what to do. Maybe, she have to stick with the jumper style for the rest of her school life!

I love the boys pants and shorts for uniforms, so I ordered this(also for a school uniform). Had to return first order and get the slim, and now even the slim has to be pulled to almost the end buttonhole. This causes it to look bunchy in the back. The worst part is how much this wrinkles! It is wrinkled from the dryer and then by end of the day , the whole back is full of wrinkles! I think I will be returning.I need the ease of wrinkle free for uniform use. Another oddity is that it is not the same khaki as the boys pants/shorts, so it doesn't match her brothers exactly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Renee2013 Great for tweens.
My child has a dress code at school with skirts having to be just above the knee. This skort is comfortable and stylish for school. It holds up well after washing and needs no ironing if hung up right after dryer. Looks great with her polo shirts. Great quality as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WendiL Nice but warm
My tomboy 10 year old likes this skort because it is blue, it is plain, it is a skirt, and it is shorts all at the same time. However, in Hawaii, the double layer is kind of warm. I like the wash and wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by C3L School uniform - wears well and versatile
We have now had the skirts in their second year - is part of school uniform. My 9 yr and 11 yr old daughters happily wear them, and the shorts underneath keep them from being preoccupied with whether they can climb things, run around, or sit on the ground. They have held up with more than a year of use, wearing them M-F. These skirts are not fashion forward in style, but work very well for school. They run about 1" above the knee for a child who is in the 50th percentile in height.

I bought this skirt for my school uniform. this skirt was very boxy. It just goes straight dowm and is very ugly. There is no room to move around because it is like a pencil skirt. another thing i would like to bring up is school pictures. We had a group picture for my class and we had to sit down. I am very short so I am always in the front, but due to the shorness of my skirt when i sit down, i was sent to the back so nobody would see my short skirt.
I hate this skirt.

Rated 2 out of 5 by EdgeMom Shorts underneath too binding
The problem wasn't with the fit of the skirt itself, but the fit of the shorts underneath. My 2nd grade daughter is a bit tall and the shorts were binding enough on her that we ended up returning the skort. I was told by an online representative that the inseam does not get longer with the next size up. Lands End, please make a Chino Uniform SKIRT without the shorts!! My daughter will be wearing a jumper every day until 5th grade if this problem is not adjusted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BlondieKimmie Perfect for my daughter!
Quality is wonderful. Washes very nicely! I always have to get slim for my daughter. She isn't a girly-girl but has to wear knee length skirts to school. She loves this one because it has the shorts under it and it isn't girly colors! Bought 1 of each color and she wears them M-F.
