Little Girls' 5-pocket Colored Pencil Jeans
Great for Adults too...
I've been looking for a couple of good pairs of pencil jeans in fun colors. On I whim, I thought, I'll order a girls 16+ and see if they fit. I did not use the LE size chart. For reference, I'm a solid women's dress size 6, 5'5", 130 lbs. The length and fit through the legs was perfect on me! The waist was lower riding (more hipster) and larger than a women's 6, but the extra inch didn't matter due to the elastic adjusters and fact these aren't worn at waist level. Needless to say, I lucked up. Happy I got the kid price on these pants.

Bought these for my daughter, who wears a 7+ and she's thick through the thighs so they come up enough and the back for coverage but aren't to baggy either like most bigger sizes are. Also got a few pairs for my little cousin who wears a regular 10, they fit her perfect too!!!

Great But Bigger Sizes Needed
My 13 year old girl was really excited for the cabbage purple jeans. After measuring her size, she was a slim 14. She really wanted these pair of jeans but we fear that it was going too big, since it wasn't her size. We bought a regular 12, if I weren't wrong
And of course, it was too big. We did get it tailored to make it slightly tighter, and it was pretty troublesome. I really hope that Landsend will start serving Slim 14, my daughter is devastated when she saw the patterned jeans once again did not come in her size.
Other than that, it was a beautiful pair of jeans.

Fun colors but very slim in ankle
I just ordered three pairs of these (on sale!) for my 7 yr old daughter who is tall and thin (51 inches, 50 lbs). I ordered a 7slim and two 8 slims. The 7s fit perfectly, no need to cinch the waist, not baggy in the butt and just below the ankle for length (which is perfect for these pants as they are so slim). I did have to practically shimmy her foot in the bottom of the leg as they taper extremely. I wouldn't buy slims unless your child really is skinny. The 8s fits too (has room to grow in the length) but has to be cinched quite a bit in the waist. However, she said she liked the fit of both and would wear them. They seem high quality enough and she loves the colors. I also got a pair of the printed denim (gray with hearts which she was excited about) and they fit the same.

Cute colors, terrible fit.
I just returned an order of these pants. The pencil leg/skinny jean design drives my daughter crazy. They are restrictive and pinch when you walk and run. Who would want to stuff an active 10 year old girl into pencil leg pants? Never again.

Fashionable and modest
My daughter gets a lot of compliments when she wears these jeans. The cabbage purple is a gorgeous plum color and I'm buying the cherry color today. They are pencil cut but not too tight. They are, however, cut a bit smaller than the pencil cords. The difference in cut didn't affect the regular size 14 I bought for my oldest daughter, but it did in the 8+ size I bought for my younger daughter -- the plus size in these pants did not have enough room in the thighs and we'll have to send them back. Still, they are very cute and wash well.

Love these jeans!
These jeans have been the only LE pants that fit my daughter. Her measurements hit within the size chart dimensions for the size we ordered, and we were thrilled to see they actually fit very nicely! Snug enough to be "in style" but not so tight that they look painted on. They're not so low cut that bending over is revealing in any way -- a modest touch that we look for. Yay, LE! We ordered both the red and purple colors -- the colors are very nice and as expected from the picture. Paired with almost any tee shirt and a denim jacket, my 11 year old loves the look. Hope these stay in the pants line for girls!

Waist is too low and too wide.
Even my 11 year old thought the pants sat ridiculously low on her. Zipper is about 2 inches long, as another reviewer noted. Also, even with the adjustable waistband, the waist was too big so adjusting it just made it bunch up.

Sizing was an issue
The shape of these pants are not for my daughter. Bought her normal size of 8 regular and chose color of Light House blue. Length was fine and fit good through the legs and thighs. Our problem area was the waist and the lower ride. The zipper on these pants is only 2 inches in length. We have found this is to be a good indicator that pants will ride too low. (Couldn't determine this prior to on-line purchase.) Other problem was waist area. Waist was way TOO big! Waist area gapped so much away from her back , I could fit my fist in there. Pants do come with elastic built in waist, but after tighten up the waist, the pants looked too bunched up on her. My daughter is average build and has a normal waist line. The quality of the jeans look to be very good. Good weight for cooler weather too. The color is exactly as seen. However, these just don't fit and I will be sending them back. Too bad because we really liked the color. Will try another style of Lands End jeans.

Contrary to earlier reviews, I thought the pants ran a little short. I originally ordered the 10 for my daughter but ended up with the 12 slim because they were short on her. Her other new pants (Gymboree, B'Gosh, and Gap) are all 10s. I love the rich color and my daughter says they are very comfortable.
