Boys' Squall Jacket
Warmth and Quality
I love this jacket. It is not heavy and bulky, but it is warm. All five of my children wear squall jackets. They stay warm in the cold and snow. The sleeves are good at keeping the warmth in. The hood works well when they are sent out to recess on a rainy day. It holds up well enough to be used by younger siblings.

Zipper went in less than 2 months!
I had the blue jacket for my 9yo son. Nice color, nice fit, it resisted a few washes well. Warm. Then he went out in the snow, and came back with the zipper ... Busted. Back to llbean-- I had jackets that survived 4 winters ( between my 2 kids)- without anything coming apart!

My kids did not like the 3 in 1 jackets, too bulky. I bought the Adult version of this last year and my husband loved it so much I bought this for my kids. Warm without bulk! It's hard to play with all the bulk and this jacket is perfect. Highly recommend.

not as nice as previous one (last years)
whilst it is a nice coat and keeps grandson warm and dry it isn't as nice as last years. the previous one had a pocket inside for him to hide things or carry tissues. this one doesn't / so like I said it is a good jacket, they just eliminated the little extras. still sticking with Lands End for the value and quality though.

I have purchased these jackets in the past for my grandsons and have been pleased with the quality. Like the "extender" sleeves - like the protective cuffs - appreciate option of zip or velcro snaps (important for little ones). Would like to see reflection strip return to back of jacket and also interior pocket which is handy for storing hats, gloves, etc. (since these are often lost by little ones).

Love the jacket, but most importantly my son and daughter do too.
Even though my son is 7, he is very picky about what he wears. He loves this jacket, his only complaint is that he wishes it had the same reflective material that is on his sisters. His jacket keeps him warm and he loves the hood, he can easily put the hood on and off and independently make adjustments as needed. So can my 3 year old which is imperative as she wants to do everything herself. Unfortunately, we have hardly had any snow. It was a green Christmas here in northern Vermont which is unusual. These jackets have been tested in bitter cold, windy, conditions but not yet in the snow.

PERFECT WINTER COAT IN TN
I LOVE these jackets. I have nothing negative to say about it! I bought a little boys small when my son was four. He was able to wear it for 3 complete seasons without outgrowing it. I could probably have made it work one more season but it's looking a bit short in the torso. So now I'm back to order our second one - we will see how many seasons it lasts! In terms of how well the jacket held up - it still looks fantastic! It can definitely be passed down to a cousin and worn again! We definitely got our moneys worth out of it!

Worth every penny!
This is the second Squall Jacket we have purchased for our son. We love the hand cuffs for extra protection and those days when you don't need to wear gloves. My son stays warm and dry without the bulk of a 3 in 1 system for hours of fun in the snow. With 2 younger brothers this coat will be great to pass down. Thank You again for another quality product.

Why doesn't this come in 4T?
We got my son this jacket last year in a size 2T. He was 3 years old but on the small side and it fit him perfectly all season. He loved it, especially the thumb holes. We wanted to get him the same jacket again this year, but I was hesitant to get a 3T because we thought it might be too small, and we hoped it might last more than one season. Since there is no 4T, I ordered a boys' size 4. It was HUGE on him! The sleeves were easily 2" too long. It was a bit loose in the body, but we could have dealt with that if it weren't for the ridiculous sleeves. I will be sending it back. Now I have to decide if the 3T is worth a shot.
This is a great jacket, though. It held up well all winter last year and still looks good. I will be passing the 2T on to my nephew. I am just disappointed that Lands End doesn't make this in a 4T. Why??
