Boys' Squall Jacket
The jacket is the perfect fit. It's light enough to not be bulky and heavy enough to keep my munkins warm.
The quality was what I expected . The jacket I ordered is for everyday wear to daycare.

This jacket fit perfectly for my 10 year old Grandson. He really likes the color too.
The size is true to the sizing chart for the jacket. The quality of the jacket is great for an active 10 year old I don't think he can wear it out.

Great coat..again. Some details are gone.
I'm on my 3rd round of Squall Coats for both my daughter and son. This relatively thin coat is warm enough for an active kid for most of the Massachusetts winter and isn't too "puffy"- to quote my kids. These coats last, wash great and keep them warm- usually for more than a year. This year I got my son the Chesapeake Blue and I just love the color, very rich and bright, great on my blue eyed boy. I was a bit disappointed to see that the inside mesh pocket was gone (great for storing a hat at school). Also, the reflective logo is gone from the back. It wasn't much but I liked having something reflective on them. It's dark at 4:15 pm here. I like the idea of the grow features, but in reality, I always have to replace this coat because it gets too short in the waist. I think the Parka version might be better for that but I prefer the look of the Coat. Overall, this is one of my favorite Land's End products.

High Quality Jacket worth every penny
This jacket is true to size. Well made, high quality. I am confident that in the long run we will save money by having this jacket for 2 years or more rather than buying 2 or 3 cheap jackets locally. The fleece lining is so snuggly and the thumb holes act like gloves for your child. The very best part is that this jacket is water PROOF not just resistant. I'm a happy customer. Now to label the heck out of this thing so we don't lose it! :)

Good jacket, not too bulky
I bought this for my boys (11 yr old and 7 yr old). The jacket sizes were perfect and I was very pleased with the fabric. My boys like to wear hooded sweatshirts to school so I wanted something that wasn't too bulky and this certainly fits the bill. It hasn't been that cold here so I can't comment about how warm they are in freezing conditions but so far so good.

The Perfect Winter Coat!
These are so well made, my son has only needed 3 sizes: one preK to 1st/2nd, one for 2nd-4th, and now a large for 5th grade and beyond. Talk about value! It is plenty warm for building snowmen outside. When unzipped, it isn't too warm for a breezy day nor is it so awkwardly bulky my kids try to get Mom to hold it for them the minute we get into the mall. It folds thin into a backpack, which was handy when we traveled on an airplane and didn't need to hold them all day. My ADHD/sensory child loves, loves, loves the thumb holes which give him something to twiddle with. My daughter only wants to use them if it is really chilly, so hers stay tucked out of the way most of the time. She is especially warm-natured, so this is the perfect coat for her as well --warm enough for snow, but doesn't make her sweaty if the temperature goes up.
We just purchased a Large for my son. He is absolutely crushed to see the big mesh interior pockets he could fit his DS player and plenty of other treasures inside are not on this coat. His bulky ski gloves could fit in as well and air out better hanging up at school rather than getting shoved down his sleeve or dropped on the floor where he could lose track of them. I'm not going to let that stop me from giving this a 100+ star rating, but it would be a nice feature to bring back. I didn't realize this newest generation of the squall coat did not have one, from the pictures. All in all, I should get commission for the number of times I've recommended this coat to fellow mothers!

My son loves the green color. It fits well and we should get at least 2 seasons out of it. I love the "grow" sleeves.

Love LE jackets for my kids. Fits great, not too heavy, yet warm enough with layers for our northern Illinois winters. Love the fleece lining. Very cozy. Only problem is zipper broke off previous squall jacket, but have had many of them and was the only time it has happened. Happy to order again. Tried to go cheaper with a different brand, and came back to LE.

best Lands End product
I have the ultimate product tester in our home... a crazy busy 8-year old boy who loves to spend time outside. Our area sees a decent amount of rain, so something that keeps him dry is non-negotiable. The bonus is that this coat fits him for TWO YEARS because of the growth seam allowances... how smart is that?
He loves the hand warmers that allow him to still use his fingers, but cover up to his knuckles. He reaches for this coat first.
He had the lime color for his first coat, and this time has the electric blue. I would love more color options (just because it seems like the girls seem to have loads more options in the clothing department in general)... This will be his go-to coat for as long as he fits into the kid sizes!

I have bought my 2 boys (now 11 & 6) this jacket for at least 5 years now. Once I found it there was no going back to any other Coat. My boys can both get at least 2-3 years of wear out of each jacket. The grow a long sleeves really help with that! They are still in great condition after 2-3 years of use. So big brothers is always passed down to little brother. Then they are passed on to our cousins.......they last year after year, and wash after wash! (just follow the washing instructions!) After scout camp outs this jacket is washed up and looks and smells as good as new!
We live in North Texas and this really is the only coat they need! They wear it in 30 degrees and are fine playing on the trampoline. They wear it in the snow with your snow bibs and are plenty warm. I can't say enough about this jacket. I do wish it were a little longer (they always outgrow the length of the jacket before the sleeves) ....I don't love the parka squall style. and the parka is almost too long for here in North Texas. This makes a perfect coat for school on cold days. And the thumb holes are AWESOME! Who doesn't want fleece thumb holes?
I always get these on sale......but even if I didn't catch a sale it's still an amazing value!
