Boys' Navigator® Colorblock Packable Rain Jacket
Lightweight packable shell
This is a very light, no-frills windbreaker that is perfect to take on walking trips when you just need a versatile outside layer. Nice details like a visor on the elasticized edge of the hood, hand pockets as well as deeper inside pockets, and the fold-up pouch makes a deep pocket on the back (with Velcro closure and rain flap). The jacket is put together with multiple panels that make it a good fit for movement. My son wore this on a school trip to Boston in the spring, and with a sweat jacket to layer under it, was comfortable with variable temperatures.

Rainy day are happy days
My grandson really needed a new raincoat. He loves the coat and has asked to wear on sunny days too.

Very basic rain jacket; very basic
I would recommend this jacket with the following insight. This jacket would be better if there was an interior mesh lining. There is no lining at all. So the jacket looks unfinished and cheap. I think a jacket that is sold for the fall season should be more substantial. Other than that the jacket seems to be of quality construction. My son has not put it to the test yet. :-)

Not water resistant enough :(
Bought it for my 11 year old son, he likes the fit and color, but walking in the very first rain that arrived he came home soaked. Jacket has to go back and now I have to look for something else mid-october. Good luck to me!

This is the fifth one of these I have purchased. They hold up through 3 boys.

My grandson loves it!
I got this in the green and orange combination, and my grandson prays for rain so that he has an excuse to wear it! When I spotted it in the catalog, I just knew he'd like it because olive and orange are his two favorite colors. He's ten but tall. It fits him well.

Great for backpacks or trips
Everyone needs one of these packable rain jackets. Lightweight, good quality and very durable. Fits into a small pouch attached to the coat and slips easily into school backpacks or vacation suitcase so you are always ready for wet weather. My son thinks the jacket is "cool" and is happy to wear it without being told.

Great Backpack Jacket
This is a quality jacket that packs up nicely for my son to keep in his backpack for those days when the weather changes. He has it on hand if it is raining when school lets out. This is the second one that he has had. He grew out of the other before he wore it out, and he wore it most of the spring.

I purchased this in the store for my daughter and loved it so much I went back two days later to buy it for my son... And he already had a a rain jacket! It is lightweight, easy to pack and perfect for a warm temperature rain shower. My kids love that they can bundle it up and latch it to the outside of their back packs. Contrary to another review, I did not find this fabric plasticky. It seems breathable and yet wicking. Love it. Wish I could find one in my size. May even buy more to stash in the car!

Best kids rain jacket. Period.
I have 4 children so we have seen a lot of kids products come and go in this house. My prerequisites for kids clothing are that they have to do their job well, not look like they came from a dollar store, and still be in wearable condition after the first child so they can be handed down. These jackets certainly meet all the requirements, and then some!
We live in Wisconsin where the winters are brutal, spring is generally quite soggy, summers are insanely humid and often very hot, and autumn is cool, breezy, and sometimes soggy as well. My kids get plenty of use from their rain jackets in fall and spring- especially over a LE fleece sweater in late winter when we get a really wet snow. These jackets are super light-weight and packable so they're great for taking camping or to grandma's house overnight. They are nylon-y feeling with a really good quality laminate on the inside that truly keeps them dry- no matter how long they're in the rain. However it keeps them so dry that they end up sweaty if they're running around because the jackets don't breathe. I am a true believer that every product that says waterproof and breathable will fail you when you need it to keep you/your clothes dry. It's just not possible to be both waterproof and breathable!
The primary use for my children of these jackets is to keep them dry on the way to the school bus or car on a rainy day or keep them dry on the rare occasion that they are playing in the rain. Not once have they ever come in wet while wearing their jackets and we've owned these jackets for many years.
We have 2 older boys and a girl and then a baby boy. Before we had the baby these rain jackets would last through both my boys and then get handed down to friends kids and still be in like-new condition after they outgrew it and handed it on to other people's kids. No joke- unless your kid kills the zipper, I can't imagine how one of these jackets would fail or fall apart. Being that they are nylon they won't fade, they won't shrink or stretch out all weird like some clothes do, the colors are simple and won't go out of style- they're just great jackets that do exactly what they're supposed to with no caveats!
