Rated 2 out of 5 by Aprilshowers Way too big for slims. Please fix this problem!
The quality and style of these pants are great, but the waist sizing for slims is off. My boys wear slim jeans from Lands End, and they fit very well. However, these run an inch or two big in the waist, and do not have an adjustable waistband. I will not buy any more Lands End slim pants unless they have an adjustable waist. I realize that that these already have an elastic waist, but they're still just too big. A shame, because they're great-looking pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DannyG Love the "slim" fit option -- great pants for slender, active boy
This review is specifically for the "slim" fit option. Thank you LE for making many of your pant styles available in a "slim". This continues to save us as we search for good quality, reasonably priced pants for our active son. He is almost 7, and very slender for his age. It is a nightmare to find pants from just about any other retailer. We purchase the iron knee pants in many styles (cargo, plain, ripstop, canvas, unlined, lined) and have found the slim to fit him very well. Right now we buy both the Medium (5-6 or just 6) and Large (7). Sometimes when we buy pants at the upper size range they are a bit long at first, but we just roll once or twice and he generally grows into the length before he grows out of the waist, so we usually get more than one season out of them. The quality is great -- stands up to his baseball/soccer/football/kickball activities at home and on the school playground. Please continue to offer slim fit and we will be customers for life.

Rated 4 out of 5 by sitidi very baggy, my son is very slim. I put an elastic in the bottom of the pants, now he loves them
We looked long for a blue camoflage pant, these seemed perfect, but when they arrived they were on the baggy side, given my son likes his pants to fit tight. I pulled in elastic at the bottom of the legs, they now fit like sweatpants and he loves them. Nice light material for fall days

Rated 3 out of 5 by humanmom Good Camo, Poor Durability
My son loves the look and fit of these pants, however, they tore on the third wearing. One knee is worn through the cotton fabric, and the other knee is worn through and torn at the exterior seam of the "iron knee" and the pant leg. I likely will return for a replacement at Sears, and hope the next pair does a bit better. I don't mind mending older pants, but this was too soon!

Rated 4 out of 5 by JennHendrix More Belt Loops Please!
So far we have worn the gray camo pants twice in the woods and muck… Nothing stained them, even wading through creek beds, rolling down grassy hills, etc. Ordering the husky size was a mistake. Even though the size chart would recommend that size for my boy, the regular fit much better. I'm not quite used to LE sizing, it seems to run large since my son wears an 18/XL in everything except LE. The reason I'm not giving this pant 5 stars is because there aren't enough belt loops. One loop on each side in the front, and one in back in the middle, 3 total. I would love these pants 100% if it weren't for the difficulty of wearing them with a belt!

Rated 1 out of 5 by MarisaD My son has many of these pants for years on end. Unfortunately he wore these to a play date and came home with a tear from his crotch to his knee.
It fit him great. Unfortunately they tore from the crotch to the knee during the first wear. He has been wearing these climbers since he was 4. So at 8 I'm surprised and disappointed in the construction of these particular pants. We are going to be bringing them back to Sears and ordering another pair. Hopefully it was just a one time occurrence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ATM LE understands warmth & fit
After going back and forth to several stores in town, buying and returning pants that do not fit my slim fella, I finally decided to order these (and the canvas lined pants too). I hesitated for 2 reasons: (1) price, and (2) disappointment in the declining quality of a few our LE faves over the years (not all, though). Well, these pants do not disappoint!! Both my son and I love them. I worried about getting the gray camo because it looked like part of the pattern is white (hello stains); it's not, it's a light gray. They are warm and they are TOUGH! Despite the fact that he wears them every time they're clean, these are not going to wear out. They are worth every penny! By comparison to the canvas lined pants, these are a little lighter. The canvas pants might be warmer. But these are the ones my son likes best. The fit is perfect for my slim guy, and is a little long so they have room for growth. They look nice rolled up for now. LE has always understood fit! LE, I'm back. :)
