Boys' Iron KneeŽ Pull-on Canvas Pants
Prefer these to the climbers
I was worried when I saw reviews that people preferred the older climber pants. My son has worn the climbers for years. But I thought we'd try since there is a no hassle return policy.
We got them and I love the styling. Lots of thought went into these pants - the iron knees, pull tabs by the snaps on pockets and fly, a snap not a button, reinforced stitching on the heel side of the cuff. I prefer this canvas to the old climber as it seems softer, and still seems high quality. I was worried the snap/zipper fly would open when my son was using them as a pull-up pant ... But they stayed closed. Yay!
They fit my son perfectly - although I order slightly larger than he needs to get more 'wear' time out of them. The new design allows me to sinch the waist - so it is perfect!
My son loves the comfort and style. He, like a lot of people who bought the climber pants, has fine motor issues with buttons/zippers - so these will continue to be on the must-have list for him until he grows out of the size 20!
My husband would like you to make them in men's sizes!

New Style Is Different - But I LIKE Them!
My son is medium built and wears Little Boy size 6. The elastic waist is bigger on these then the old style and cannot adjust - they fit my son nicely. But if your child is slim these will probably not work without an adjustable waist. The material is also lighter/ not as heavy as the old style - but still sturdy. I happen to like this because we live in a warmer climate - but I know some prefer the heavier weight. So overall these work for us but I can see how they would not be acceptable for others.

Too big in the Waist
My son is five and is tall for his age but average weight. I ordered a size six in these pants for the length and they were way too big in the waist. An adjustable waist would have been perfect or maybe I should have ordered the 6 slim. However i just ended up returning them and ordering another pair of iron-knee jeans that have adjustable waste and seem to fit true to size.

Great for special needs kids!
My son has worn these climber pants since he was about 4 years old. He is now 14 and still wears them. The pants wear well and elastic wasit is easy to pull up since my child has special needs and isn't able to do it himself yet. I do not like the dark wash. The color comes off on his shoes, hands, and furniture! I even tried washing in hot water several times and soaking in vinager to set the dye. It is horrible and wish the lighter was was still available.

Super for superboys
My 6 year old keeps wearing out the knees in his pants so I tried these. He has a typical kids belly, so there could be more room in the waist. But the elastic waist is a must so he can get them on/off himself. I ordered another pair in husky size to compare.
The pants are very well made and sturdy enough to last my son's play.

Great hard wearing pants
I think my 9 year old chews on the knees of his pants. That's what it looks like a few weeks after he starts wearing them at any rate. However, these pants have really held up! I got a pair of these in green plus tha camo style pants and he pretty much wears them both multiple times a week to school because they have become his favorite pants. I like the hard wearing knees and he loves the snap! I also like the fact I can make his waist band fit with the elastic inside.

The pants last but don't look nice.
I bought 4 pairs of these pants for my son. He is a very skinny so I bought size 4 slim. They weren't quiet slim enough when we purchased them a year ago. They are only *just now* fitting him around the waist without a belt but they are now getting short. He's 42 inches tall but only weights 35 pounds. These pants have held up over the year but there are some draw backs. The rust (no longer available) and blue colors faded in the knees immediately. They look really worn even thought there aren't any holes nor is the fabric worn thin. The color just drastically faded in the knees. The brown/beige and camo colors didn't fade as much -- they did some but not nearly as much. Also, after they were washed the side pocket flaps never laid flat again. They curl up and stick out. I've tried ironing them (who wants to have to iron their young boy's pants??) but that didn't really help either. So the side pockets always look a little goofy.

My son loves these. He doesn't like to have to button or snap so the elastic waist is perfect. They look like pants that you have to button so he can wear them with a sweater or nice shirt. We got one pair and then ordered another in a different color.

he LOVES these!
we have a hard time finding a casual pant that will go around his tummy but still be the right size. we ended up getting them in 3 different colors for winter. these are great! the only thing i would add is that they are bulky to store (hanging or folded) and there are no belt loops all the way through.

Size was a bit bigger than expected
Based on the measurements listed (and a phone conversation with Lands End), I was worried that these would barely fit my husky boy, but I was afraid to go up a size due to the length. Turns out that the pants are quite loose on him, and I'm glad that there is the adjustable waist feature, which really helped out.
