Lovely jackt but... I'm debating whether to keep this cool, classic jacket. It's pretty tight across my upper back, so when I reach me arms out...pretty snug. This may be just because I am short waist-ed though. A size 4 is perfect in the arm length so I really can't go up a size. I'm 5'5" or maybe a bit shorter? 117 lbs. The jacket sits right below my waist. The button in vest is a plus and is not bulky. Quality is very good. March 18, 2013
Beautiful jacket with some issues First of all I have to say, it is really beautiful. Fabric is very good quality, inner liner and that stitching all over seams are amazing! This one not a coat, it's more a jacket. It looks like a nice warm jacket, not heavy fabric at all, like you can see in description. These are pluses. Other side is: you need to know your LEC size for sure to order this coat. The problem is - you can't tailor this piece. Just because those beautiful stitching all over, there is no available place to do so. There is only one plain seam - side seam, but you can't take in here either because of very close located pocket. I'm a seamstress, so I know this things. Jacket fit me very good around shoulders, but very big all over the body. Another minus - sleeve cut. This is my 3rd purchase from LEC and I have to say, they need to have a very close look to this problem. All my sleeves cut wrong, sleeve cut make any hand rising very problematic (you rise your hand and all panels move up creating very bulgy look, the head of the sleeves cut very long). I recut and resew my other shirts sleeves I bought from LEC, and its normal now (tailoring this kind of problem is time consuming and cost a lot). I still like this coat and will take it to very experienced tailor tomorrow to see what we can do here to make it fit without ruining the design. If nothing I will send it back, unfortunately. Do Not Pass This Up!!! This coat is absolutely amazing for the clearance price. It is 100% wool, which is difficult to find even in high-end designer coats. It is fully lined with a khaki-green, silk-like lining. It has maroon trim detail on the inside of the coat. There is a "secret" pocket on the inside of the left breast with a button closure. There is also a slanted pocket under the left lapel, which is difficult to see in the picture. All pockets are true pockets not "decorative" pockets. It is slightly boxier than I would like, but it is high quality and definitely worth buying and then having professionally tailored. The wool is very, very soft and not at all itchy or rough to the touch. Assuming it holds up like all my other items from Lands' End have, it would be the type of piece your daughter would be thankful you purchased and saved. It is a timeless classic. Unfortunately the picture doesn't show it buttoned, but when buttoned it has the appearance of a cross between a traditional Peacoat and an English riding jacket. The sleeves are the perfect length for me and I am 5'6" and purchased a size 8. January 9, 2013
Fits great! I am 115 lbs and 5'6. I got a size 4 and it fits great. Arm and jacket length are perfect! December 26, 2012
Weird boxy coat I was so thrilled to get this coat but it turned out so disappointing. I'm 5'2, 115 lbs, bust 33, and ordered size 2. The fit is awkward, the little chest pocket is very slanted, making the whole coat sort of slanted towards my two shoulders. That being said, the shoulder pads are bulky, making my hourglass figure huge. The bodice looks even more sad. The front fit-darts are a failed attempt at making it fit, because coupled with the heavy wool fabric, they make the bust bulgy. However I didn't want to re-order a size down because the shoulders are already tight, making it hard to move. I'll return it with broken heart because I thought my days of hunting for a perfect wool peacoat are merrily over. It looked so cute on the model. December 17, 2012
