Two flaws keep me from loving these I love these shoes except for two problems - one major, one minor. As others have said, the ankle strap is just too long, or the spot to velcro it closed is placed wrong, or something; when fastened as tight as is physically possible, it still gives me at least a finger's width of space between the top of my foot and the strap, which takes away some of the support that I was looking for for an active shoe. They're not unwearable for that, and I wear them to work, for strolls, etc., but not for long days of exploring the outdoors. (Mind you, I have large, wide feet - so I'm not sure if there was a flaw in some batches of these shoes that made the fastening off where it should be or if they were designed this way, but they definitely have a LOT of room between the strap and top of my foot). But the real problem is the metal ring that connects the front straps across the toes. Because of the way the shoe fits on my foot it doesn't go as pictured with the ring off to the side, the ring ends up on the open spot just above a bone at the base of my big toe, which rubs uncomfortably. If I wear a bandage over that area, it's fine, a little pressure but not bad, but if I forget the bandage, after any significant walking I end up with a sore from the friction. It's too bad, because other than those two issues, these are great - supportive, comfortable for my wide feet, decent enough looking to wear with business casual attire (which is mainly how I wear them due to the issues above that kept them from active use). Not sure if I just got an oddly designed pair (I've found there is not always consistency of LE shoes if I buy multiple pairs of the same size/type of shoe in different colors). May 4, 2013
This shoe is great! I agree with the positive review. This is a GREAT shoe. Great fit, comfortable, lightweight, and not hot at all. The velcro stays fasted perfectly for me. They don't bind or smash my toes.... I bought up 1/2 size to make sure the heel didn't rub, but other than that. Perfect. I wore them on a trip the day after I got them. No problems and great comfort! Buy them.. I have blue and black and am considering the grey!!! August 17, 2012
This shoe is ridiculously comfy! I'm glad I ignored the other reviews and bought these anyway. They are insanely comfortable! I didn't really purchase them with the intent of doing significant exercise in these - just bumming around shoes. But I am sure that I could wear these on my 2 mile daily walks and feel great! not comfy I wanted to replace a pair of LE shoes from a few years ago. I loved them. They were mostly mesh and fit great, but eventually wore out. These shoes have little air flow, but also cut at the ankle and also the top of my foot. I could possibly wear them with socks, if I'm not planning to walk too much.... but I wanted shoes to wear without socks on very warm days, and wanted to be able to walk comfortably. Very disappointed!! June 8, 2012
Ankle strap too flimsy, too long, making fit too loose. At try on time in my home shoe seemed OK. However once I did some walking outdoors it was apparent that the shoe was loose due to the bad fit of the narrow ankle strap. There was too little Velcro, and the strap was too long. This made the shoe impossible to tighten. After wearing shoes twice, they will no longer stay on my foot. I will return for refund due to flaw in design. May 3, 2012
