It has sort of a retro air, yet feels modern at the same time. The portrait collar is so cool: modest in front, then dipping (surprise!) to a V in back. (Always nice when a dress can startle in a good way.) And the fabric is a soft and summery as they come. 60% linen/39% rayon-viscose/1% spandex. Machine wash. Imported.

I love the dress!
I bought this to wear to a wedding. I received so many complements on the color and the style of the dress. The fit is perfect, I believe it is true to size. The linen is very comfortable and looks elegant. It's fully lined as well which makes life a lot easier. Oh and it has pockets which is really nice too.

This dress is a lovely addition to a summer wardrobe.
The dress was not form fitting, which is perfect for the warmer weather. The color is unique and lovely. I love the portrait collar and the V in back is modest. Lined, with pockets made it just right. I wore it to the Superintendent's reception during graduation at West Point and dressed it up with pearls and pumps. It will look great with sandals in a less dressy setting.

"Perfect Dress"
I too, purchased this dress for my son's upcoming graduation. I was skeptical at first, but when it arrived I was estactic. The material is wonderful, it is fully lined and it hits right at the knee or maybe a touch above. The color is just as it appears in the picture. I also purchased the hanging pearls and leather belt as shown in the catalog. I wanted to complete the look. It definitely fits true to size and if I must say so it is picture perfect. I love the way the collar drops in the back. I can't wait to wear it. I don't think you will be disappointed. So go for it if you've been thinking about it....

Beautiful color, but fit around the waist is bit odd
The color and collar are beautiful. But the fit at the waist is bit off. Fabric gaps a bit. Can be remedied with a wide belt.

The Ideal Dress
On a day when it was 95 degrees outside, I walked into a packed after-work reception at a hotel ballroom and immediately the compliments began flying from people I knew and even some I didn't know: " What a great dress...what a great color!" "is that linen? But it's not wrinkled. Mmmm. So soft!" With its portrait collar and kelly green color and over-all shape (and POCKETS!), it is a dream dress. In all that heat and humidity, it hardly wrinkled, unlike most linen. Please make it with 3/4 sleeves in a jersey or similar for the fall/winter. And offer some deep, bright colors.
It's true to size, just below the knee on my 5'2" plus-size build. The loose but defined waistline is so magical that, although it would look different on a taller woman, it didn't cause the bulkiness that some dresses do for a shorty. I could have taken a 16 or an 18. And the color and collar are so classic, attractive and Jackie-O-like that no one noticed my too-ample arms, and for once, I didn't feel self-conscious in a sleeveless. Wow.

Elegant little dress
This dress is classic and elegant. I did find the waistline a little "Empire," but found the dress nevertheless hung well. I ordered one size down and was glad I had done so, for the fit was nearly perfect. The linen is crisp and fresh and the green is vibrant (almost, but not quite Kelly green- a muted Kelly, perhaps).
I can see I will be able to wear the dress through the autumn, if I add a sweater or a jacket.
I am delighted to see Lands End at last return to simple elegance in its offerings. Please keep up this trend, and send us more linen, silk, and wool.

only one problem
Great color, style, and fit. I am always so happy to find linen and pockets. The portrait collar is lovely. Unfortunately, the description does not tell you that this is lined with polyester. So if you, like me, buy linen because it is cool and breathes, then you will be disappointed. If you don't care about that, this dress is a 5. But for me, it is a deal breaker.

Beautiful but too narrow at shoulders
I had to return this dress along with three other styles I ordered for the same reason: Too narrow under the arms. I have wide shoulders but small chest (32A). I really wanted to keep these dresses but they were cut too tight at the shoulder/armpit area. The design and the fabric was beautiful and am hopping future dresses have more shoulder room. The only dress that I was able to keep was the pique dress. Thanks Landsend for coming out with pretty dresses for those of us who love to wear them, and for offering wide range os styles in petites.

Well made, great dress
I love this dress. I bought this dress in 16P and it fits just great. I'm very short waisted and only 5'2" and it is often hard for me to find a dress that drapes correctly withought having to take up the shoulders. This was a perfect fit right out of the bag. Perfect for work or a special occasion. It works for client meetings and I will wear it to a wedding at the end of the summer. Thanks Lands End!
