The fit and color were extactly as promised. There are a couple of details that I do not like: 1: The zipper does not open from the bottom, a two-way zipper would be much more comfortable and useful. 2: The interior sleeve extentions are useless - they do not keep the fingers and thumbs warm and if you use them, they make wearing gloves uncomfortable. I actually removed them. I would have preferred regular cuffs. 3: The hood has a very large opening and cannot be adjusted. I would have preferred the option of closing up the hood to keep the wind and snow out. February 11, 2013
fabulous jacket I have been looking for a parka that fits many qualifications and this one is it. I walk dogs every morning in all kinds of weather. It is waterproof, windproof and very warm. It has reflector stripes for early morning or evening walking. The fit is perfect. It has enough pockets to hold my pick-up bags, handkerchief and gloves. I bought it for my walking but keep picking it out of the closet as my favorite jacket for everything I do. Thank you Land's End! January 19, 2013
coat is very warm Live in suburb of buffalo and dont drive, I walk everywhere. Unfortunately, my old squall jacket zipper broke after many years of wonderful use. My only real complaint with this jacket is that the zipper sticks and it runs big. It is too difficult for me to return items as post office is too far so I will keep the coat. January 8, 2013
A Good, Warm Parka The only negative I would mention is that the side entry to the patch pockets are almost useless because they are so low. January 5, 2013
Warm, lighter - I miss the inside wallet pocket I previously had the heavier squall. This one seems to be as warm and is much lighter and less bulky. It is more comfortable to drive the car with. I really wish it had an interior breast pocket. I am missing that. It has an interior net pocket that I think is for gloves or a hat, but it seems akward. It also has these interesting hand gaitors instead of a regular knit cuffs. I wasn't expecting those and would have preferred regular cuffs. I am thinking of sewing the thumb holes closed so I don't keep sticking my hand through them. Overall, I would recommend the coat. It is of Land's End's usual high quality - I just wish the catalog description would have included the coat details. I would have chosen a different one with an interior pocket and regular cuffs. Nice Winter Jacket This jacket will be perfect for those chilly morning walks with the dogs. Love the inner sleeve with the tumb hole to keep wrists covered and warm. December 8, 2012
Warm but bulky My two daughters have the kid's version of this same coat and I was super jealous so I ordered one for myself. I love the fabric andI LOVE the idea of the wrist gaiters, but wish the fleece were just a little bit longer as the thumb hole rubs quite a bit. The coat is very warm. The fit is pretty accurate. My two issues are that it feels a bit bulkier than I'd like and the reflective strips (not on the kids model) are a bit obnoxious looking. It would also be great if the zipper went both ways so it could be unzipped from the bottom when sitting in the car. Overall, I'd recommend it for when a super warm coat is needed. Haven't had a chance to play in the snow with it yet, but I think it's going to be perfect for that use. December 8, 2012
Finally a coat that I love I have finally found a woman's coat that is waterproof, windproof, has a fleece lining, and isn't bulky! I love the wrist cuffs and all the pockets. It falls below the hips and keeps me very warm. Love it!!! November 24, 2012
Excellent jacket for medium-cold weather I put this jacket to the test during many days of canvassing for my political candidate in chilly and drizzly November weather in the Great Lakes. It passed the test (so did my candidate!) It was perfect for 40 degree days though I think I'll find it to be fine for most full-on winter weather as well. The fleece lining is very cozy and I like the reflective trim. The pockets are convenient, especially the option of zipping them, and I like the extra roomy mesh pocket for a cap and gloves. I was a little concerned about the reviews about the hood that doesn't cinch down, but I found that when the neck is zipped up, the hood stays on nicely over a knit cap. I also like the waist cinch cords for a trim fit, as my daughter always says I wear coats that are too baggy. November 11, 2012
Needs a 2-way zipper. I liked everything about this coat: fit, color, waterproof, reflectors so I was really disappointed that it did not have a 2-way zipper. I kept it anyway because I really liked the other features but it is really a pain in the neck to sit in it especially in the car. Eventually the lower part of the zipper will pull out and then I'll get a 2-way zipper put in. I bought the men's version of the coat for my husband and boy was I annoyed to find that it had a 2-way zipper when the women's version didn't. Lands' End, women have hips so we need the 2-way zipper too. November 10, 2012
