nice shell but I bought this in medium regular red and green. I sometimes wear a large. I'm 5'1" but like the longer length. It was a very nice shell, well made, good quality material and the red and green colour were beautiful. The shell fit nice in the abdomen and bottom, but the arm holes were so huge that they pockured out and my bra showed. So unfortunately I had to return them. March 16, 2013
Please go back to the old material and style! This new version looks cheap and clings in all the wrong places. Please bring back the old version! March 16, 2013
Bad fit! The shell has armhole issues, as noted previously. My main complaint was the neck opening, which is too high and tight--it felt like it was choking me, even though the body of the shell fit as usual. And I agree about the diminished quality of the fabric--this is so thin that it doesn't drape well. But the other major catalog clothing retailer is using the same 76% cotton blend, so I didn't return it. But I won't buy another sweater of this fabirc. March 6, 2013
terrible armholes I should have listened to the other reviewers. I thought, well, everyone's body is different maybe this will work for me, i really needed a nice bright white shell so I ordered this. The armholes are terrible, the opening for them is just too long--they are so long that you can see the bottom of my bra through them. The bust area in the front, by the armhole, also puckers terribly--it literally sticks out, it doesn't lay flat at all. I am between a 1x and 2x, I ordered a 2x because I wanted a loose fit. The bottom of the garment fits fine. Sizing down to a 1x would not fix this problem because it would be too tight around my mid section. I will say I really liked the material, it is a nice midweight knit, just want i wanted to wear under my white Lands End cardigans. I was planning on getting more shells and cardigans in different colors, but now, knowing the shells have this weird problem I've decided to pass on the other colors. I am returning this. Lands End needs to start checking the quality of their items before they are released for sale. I am hoping Lands End will bring us a different shells that are consistent with their "old quality". Warning, Crazy Arm Holes Lovely material but, wow, these arm holes are crazy big! I bought the black top and even with a black bra, way too much shows both under the arm and into the side of the arm hole. Forget this one ladies, unless you are endowed with large arms. I gave this a fair, because the material really is soft and silky. That said, it's going back! August 22, 2012
Way to go Lands End Another reallly good quality product from Lands End with the exception that it fits a bit small for a medium. Like the cardigan I found the shell a bit closer in sizing to a small than a medium but I won't return the item and would not exactly recommend sizing up unless you are between sizes. Most items I buy from Lands End run true to size (and even some are a bit oversized like the Star Fish tunics) but this one is slightly undersized. Otherwise, the item is fantastic --- good attention to detail, quality construction and very nice material. The navy is the perfect navy too --- not so dark it lookis like black and not so light that it is really just dark blue. Also, the sleeve length of the cardigan is excellent as I have long arms and sometimes manufacturers skimp --- nothing worse than sleeves that are 1/2 or 1 inch too short. Would rather they be a bit long than a bit short and this detail is what sets Lands End apart from so many other brands. My only complaint is that I wish the shell came in all of the same colors as the cardigan. While I enjoy wearing them separately, I also enjoy the go together look of shell and cardigan. I was able to get that in navy but unforuntately not in camel. August 19, 2012
Just what I wanted I wanted a shell/vest that was not v-neck in this fabric. It is perfect for the look I wanted. I was not going to necessarily wear it without something under it, so the generously cut armholes are fine. I like the weight of the fabric as well and will be fine under a light weight jacket. I purhased it in black. July 29, 2012
Expensive t-shirt! What happened? The fiber content has changed; it's now 76% cotton versus 96% cotton. It is too clingy, and ribbed collar PLUS the ribbed hem are too wide! I own 3 of these sleeveless shells--what a difference. They were a bit heavier and fit so much better. Why, oh why, did you change a wonderful thing? I am so disappointed. It's like getting very expensive t-shirts, even on sale! They're going back... July 17, 2012
High Quality This is my idea of the perfect shell to wear when you want to dress up more formally, and let the world see you in a professional or classy way. I love it. July 8, 2012
Huge armholes The fabric and color are lovely, but the fit is disappointingly different from the shells I bought from Lands' End last year. The armholes are huge, and the band is quite wide at the bottom. That said, I did keep this shell because I wear the matching cardigan with it, and the color was what I needed. June 23, 2012
