The full name for the fabric is “ponté di roma.” It’s a double knit with just the right body for dresses and skirts that work year-round — by themselves when it’s warm, layered when it’s not. This sheath style follows your curves without ever feeling tight. And the princess seams and diagonal pockets make it slimming, indeed. 67% rayon/28% nylon/5% spandex. Machine wash. Imported.

nice quality
This dress fit very well. The fabric was heavier than I expected. The pockets lay flat and don't protrude like ears. I plan to wear it to a conference with a brown 3/4 sleeve sweater and leopard print pumps.

Love this dress!!!
I absolutely love this dress. The fit is perfect and flattering and I love that I can dress it up for work with heals or down for the weekends with strappy sandals. This is a must have for the summer!

An elegant classic
I am 5'4" and 124lbs and normally wear a Lands End size 4. In size 4, this dress was a little snug in the bust and the sleeve openings slightly small. The size 4 fit on the Hips was fine. I chose size 6 because it was more comfortable without being loose and was slightly longer on me. Take Lands End's advice and choose the larger size if you are between sizes
I purchased this dress in 3 colors, because I feel that it will be a very versatile addition to my wardrobe. I really like the fabric weight, and the pockets.
A version with 3/4 sleeves would be nice.

Fabulous fit! Soooo comfortable
I couldn't love this dress more! It is my go to dress for work. Add a blouse under, jacket over, just a necklace, it always looks great and put together! Love the pockets. Bought every color but the bright blue, which just didn't fit with the rest of my wardrobe. Even bought 2 of the Navy beacause I'm afraid I might not be able to find it later. bought one for my 30 year old daughter and she loves it too! Great job Lands End, maybe a cream color next time around would be great!

fun 60's throwback
This is a substantial, nicely cut dress that reminds me of the 60's styles on Mad Men. It's not showy or extreme and can be dressed up or down. My normal size 12 was a bit too roomy in the top so I had to alter it (I couldn't size down because the hips would've been too tight)--that's the only reason I didn't give it a 5.
Oh, and the pockets are a HUGE plus, despite what some other reviewers have opined. They're subtly placed as part of the overall design.

The perfect little black dress perfectly tailored
Excellent quality, all the way stretch, thicker than other dresses I have form LE. This makes the dress flattering and elegant, the ?ponté di roma? works very well !!!. I bought a 6P and it was perfect. I prefer the dress knee'leng and not over the knee. This is the perfect dress for .a workday, or a night out with the right accessories! I I wanted the blue celestial but is already sold in my size. Hope LE makes the dress again !!! I live it !!1

Not the pow in person
I loved the way this looked on the model and thought it would look great with a new blazer I purchased. When I tried it on, it didn't have the POW like it did in the catalog, nor did it look good with that blazer. It was a bit big, especially in the bust (I'm not a chesty gal) I ended up returning it. It seemed to be a good quality garment, but it wasn't as flattering as I had hoped.

Great shape and very stylish
This dress is well constructed and very substantial. Perfect for the office, church, a wedding or just out to dinner. The top fits more snugly than I would have guessed. I normally have to size down in LE dresses, but not in this one. If you are large chested, buy your normal size or bigger. The hip and waist are very forgiving, so you'll have no problem with this dress if you are more pear or apple shaped. The raddish color is stunning! I have dark hair and eyes, but fair skin - and this color works perfectly with my complexion. The black isn't as pretty because of the fabric. It's had a jersey-type feel to it (although its very thick and substantial), so the black wasn't as flattering - the color didn't seem as saturated as the raddish. Overall a gorgeous dress that could be a staple in anyone's wardrobe.

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect
I ordered my usual size, a 10 petite and this dress fit like it had been tailored just for me! It is extremely comfortable and I feel slim and shapely and confident in this dress! I would order a different color (I got the dark blue) but there are not any left in my size! Please restock!
