Description

A cling-free layer.

  • Ultrafine ribs keep the all-cotton knit from clinging
  • Minimalistic styling just right for layering
  • Scoop neckline front and back
  • Falls to mid hip

It can be hard finding the right tank to layer under hoodies and jackets. You want it to be minimal (so it doesn’t add bulk or cause you to overheat), but not too skimpy (in case you want to take the other top off). Which is why this tank is so nice. It’s cut especially for layering. But the rib fabric is still substantial enough to be soothing. 100% cotton. Machine wash. Imported.

Women's Shaped 1x1 Rib Layering Tank 3.9 5 53 53
Thin fabric, poor fit I previously ordered the 1 x 1 ribbed tee shirt which I love. I decided to order the tank top that came up in my search, 1 x 1 ribbed knit tank top. Imagine my disappointment when this shirt arrived. It may be a 1 x 1 ribbed knit, but it is so thin that the bra shows through - a lot! I ordered size 1X and was amazed to see that it was constructed with a bust dart! In a knit top! Absurd. The bust dart ended up hitting me at mid chest about 3 inches above the high point of my breasts. There might as well have been a sign, "Yes, they've fallen and they can't get up." I'm very discouraged in ordering from Land's End. The quality varies so much from one order to the next. Those 1 x 1 ribbed tee shirts I mentioned at the beginning - my second time ordering, much thinner fabric. I'll be returning these tank tops. May 4, 2013
Wish there were more colors!! I like the fit of this tank. I love the thin straps and the front and back scoop neck, which is hard to find where I live. I plan to wear it alone but it will also look nice layered. The color selection is awful but I did buy the black and sisal. April 17, 2013
Good product, but order smaller This layering tank is very nice, but CAUTION--order a size under what you normally order. It runs very big. If you order smaller, then you'll be happy with it. April 15, 2013
1X has darts on bust 1X has darts on bust which I do not like. Fit is a bit big. I do like the long length. The description is misleading and the photo does not show darts clearly. Please include dart information on description. Returned. April 12, 2013
Feels insubstantial I'd recommend this tank with reservations. The tank would only work as a layering piece, in my opinion. The material is pretty thin, though stretchy, and the straps are much thinner than in past years. Calling this piece ribbed is pretty generous, as I could barely feel any ribs at all. I wish there was a wider color choice. And as others have noted, definitely order at least one size down. The fit is big and it is stretchy - some people may be able to order two sizes down. where's the rib? I have bought several LE's 1x1 knit tops over the years and was unhappy that they weren't offered last fall. So, when they became available again after Christmas, I immediately ordered three tank tops. When the tops arrived, however, I was very disappointed. The fabric is so thin, it is impossible to see or feel any rib. And the fit is much, much baggier than in previous years. I got the tanks on sale with free shipping, so it's not really worth sending them back; however, I'd rather have paid more and received a quality product. I had a similar experience with two shirts I ordered for my husband at Christmas: one flannel, one corduroy. These were also disappointingly thin. Who wants a thin flannel shirt in the middle of winter? It's very frustrating to order a familiar item only to find the quality has gone down. I certainly won't be ordering any more of the 1x1 knits until the word "thicker" appears in the description. February 15, 2013
Not as nice I do not like the new straps on these tanks. They switched them last year and they are too thin. Land's End was the only place you could find a thick strap tank. I want the old tank back. This is basically the tank you can get anywhere. It also loses shape very quickly and stretches out. Really disappointed. Lands End used to be a clothing line for women, not young girls. thin straps I prefer the wider straps from 2 years ago. Please bring them back. February 4, 2013
Nice tank, just buy 1 size smaller This tank is perfect for Florida summers and for layering. It runs a little big. I am not a petite, but a petite small is perfect for my 34 B size. It covers all the right areas. It does stretch out a bit, but washing gets it right back into shape. I bought 3 of these and lived in them all summer. Glad to see another color, would welcome more. nice item I ordered this as a good catch-all tank when I want an oxford shirt unbuttoned or when a linen shirt is a little too thin. Love the stretch for nice, close fit and the fabric is nice quality. Would order several more in neutral colors if offered. January 5, 2013
