Kept me dry in a downpour! I brought this in the red for me, lime for mum. Mum has wanted this in the lime since she first saw it in a catalogue Lands' End sent me. The lime is lovely, a bright green/yellow shade, much nicer than the picture. The red is a true red. We wore them on a Sydney harbour cruise 2 weeks ago, and they kept us dry in a sudden downpour! Only our shoes and jeans got wet. We were the only ones left standing outside in the rain! They really are waterproof! They're also windproof, and roomy enough to fit a bulky sweater underneath. The hood is very big and falls quite low, but this can be adjusted. It looks great on, excellent shape. Looks much more expensive than what I paid: I've seen lower quality raincoats here in Sydney for much higher prices ($300-400!). Very pleased. This is why I keep buying with Lands' End! They do well with international delivery too! Well done! June 9, 2012
Perfect!! I was looking for a waterproof jacket to wear while walking my new rescue dog. Purchased this in the Bright Lime and I just love the color.. I was a little concerned that it might feel like plastic, but it really doesn't and it doesn't make that crinkly sound. It is lightweight so I sized up so I could wear it over a jacket. I really like the fabric and the fit (which is adjustable at the waist with the cords) and it does the job! Just perfect for me. Very pleased. May 3, 2012
Bought for Alaska cruisewear I'm cruising to Alaska in early August and a hooded raincoat was a recommended MUST HAVE. I'm a devoted Land's End wearer and I think this parka (purchased in purple) will be perfect for my needs. It is roomy enough for some layering underneath. May 13, 2013
Great Parka It's fit is true to size. Happy with the dark plum and look forward to wearing it on our trip to Scotland. Worth the price. May 12, 2013
Nice jacket Nice color, good fit. Been looking for a lightweight rain jacket like this for a while. Like the length, all the pockets, and the hood. New purchase but so far so good. May 12, 2013
Great light weight jacket This is exactly as described. I am 5'8". I typically wear size 8, or a large top. I bought the large. The sleeve length was perfect, just past the wrist, and it fit great. I live in Miami and need a light weight jacket to wear over light weight clothes. This is not the right jacket if you plan on layering sweaters or heavy clothes. The description claims 2 layers. Layers are not fabric linings. This jacket is like wind breaker. If you are looking for a lining, look elsewhere. I haven't had a chance to wear it in the rain yet, so am unable to comment on that. The hood is big, but can be pulled in a bit, but I see what others have already said about that and agree. The length is below the hips which is what I wanted. The pockets are a mesh, and have a flap to keep water out. So far I'm pleased with it. I do live in warm climate though, so for those of you up north, realize this is a light weight rain coat that will not keep you warm. May 12, 2013
perfect color and fit Very light and good protection in the rain. May 12, 2013
Can't wait for it to rain Beautiful color, great pockets, and nice lining for warm and cool weather. Just need rain now to see how the coat holds up to wetness. May 12, 2013
Great coat with a feminine cut for a reasonable price. I bought this coat for a recent trip to Victoria and Vancouver, BC. The first size I ordered was very tight in the shoulders so I reordered the next size up. Customer Service was great and it came very quickly. I bought the coat in black because I wanted something neutral. When the hood is snapped in it looks more like a lightweight coat than a rain shell which is good when you can only bring one coat with you on a trip. Speaking of the hood, since it was not adjustable on the back and fell too far forward over my face, I had it altered (a tuck sewn in back) which really helped. I washed it a couple of times because it smelled kind of plasticy at first and that has subsided; it also feels softer now that its broken in. I really like the length since it covers your butt and keeps you drier. Because it has the cinch at the waist it feels very feminine. Some other rain shells just look like shapeless men's coats. It held up well in rain and the very windy conditions on the ferry crossings. Great coat for a reasonable price. May 11, 2013
Love so much I bought another. I really love this parka. In fact I loved it so much I bought another. Have had many compliments on the hot raspberry colored one. I don't usually wear bright colors but am so glad I caved in. The fabric feels great and repels rain as describes. Fit is roomy enough to allow sweater or fleece underneath. Length is perfect at covering hips. Zipper is easy to manage and I'm very happy with the snap close tab - no Velcro!! I have a comparable parka from "the other" well known provider and this one beats it hands down. This parka can be worn casually or dressed up a little. My only suggestions would be to downsize the hood. It is really too big and I have to fold the front part of it back in order to have any visibility. That's the only reason I didn't give it five stars. I maybe should have ordered XL petite instead of regular because I have to turn the sleeve cuffs up, too. I was afraid the petite might be too tight, though. I wish my Sears Land's End store carried this parka. The style they carry is too short. I like to have my hips covered. May 11, 2013
