Fantastic I work in the fashion industry so I see A LOT of ankle boots. I haven't found any that were *just* right - until now. The heel height is comfortable enough for me to run around in all day yet still add a little height. The way the top dips down in the front elongates the leg and makes these wearable with bare legs + dresses in the summer. They are very well and thoughtfully designed in my opinion. I found them to be pretty comfortable after a "breaking in" period and wear them almost daily now with tights or skinny jeans. I do have a high arch in my foot so maybe thats why I didn't have a problem with my heel slipping out as some reviewers noted. Overall I would definitely recommend them - great job Canvas! great looking, badly fitting They looked great--both the black and cardamon--but I couldn't walk around in them. The 8 1/2 was too tight in the front and the heel slid right off--had nothing to hold the foot in place. The next size up, 9, fit ok in the front, but the heel was even worse than before, like a slipper. I could slide my foot into the shoe without bothering with the zipper. Forget about walking around in them. So they look great, if you can actually feel comfortable wearing them, but not me. I really wanted them to fit, but had to return both beautifully, but badly-fitting pairs. December 22, 2012
Nice looking but could be a little more comfortable These shoes are a little wide but I like them anyway. I am not going walking around in New York City in these. They are not that comfortable. But if I'm talking a car or just doing a little walking they are fine. Perhaps I will break them in better. The black are lighter than I thought. Kind of dark grey. These are pretty good for the price. December 8, 2012
Beautiful stylish boot These boots are really cool looking, despite they are more grey than black. But I really like the way they are slightly distressed and have a worn look to them. They are really well made - you can see the fine craftmanship that went into them. Unfortunately, they do run a bit bigger than the usual LE and CLE shoes I'm used to buying. I generally take a 7.5 but was concerned by the description they might be too tight on my bunions. I bought an 8 and they were huge - both in the heel and in the toe bed. So I am returning them and exchanging for a 7.5 - which may or may not be too wide - I may end up opting for a size 7. But looking forward to finally getting a correct size in this really neat looking and versatile boot. October 13, 2012
Cute and Comfortable I purchased the boots in black and love them. They are a little more of a grey color, like a weathered black. They are comfortable enough to wear all day. The toe box fits true to size, but they are a little wide in the heel. The only negative is the noisey metal zipper tag that rattles when I walk. October 1, 2012
Great modern look This boot has a very today look. I usually go for the black color in boots. However, this time I changed and bought the rust. It's amazing how they still go with everything and yet have a more modern, youthful appearance. The fit was comfortable and the quality was very nice. I have to say it paid for me to go out on a limb. September 29, 2012
Not black as shown The boots that arrived were a mottled mid grey, not even close to what was shown in the picture. They aren't bad for grey boots, but they definitely aren't black. FYI, according to the markings in the cuff of the boot, they have a leather sole and leather lining. The stacked heel has a rubber sole. The canvas the description refers to is a strip down the center of the leather foot bed. Hope this helps. September 26, 2012
weird color and sizing fit is large- my heel moves around so much I'm sure I'd get a blister if I actually wore them. Also, the cardamom is actually orange- very much so. The suede also arrived all stained. I may go down 1/2 size and try the black leather. September 24, 2012
