Polartec® Aircore® 200 fleece was created exclusively for Lands’ End® by the inventors of fleece. This innovative fabric uses unique hollow-core channeled yarns in an ingenious knit that traps more air, producing incredible warmth and superior softness. Yet it adds little weight for bulk-free layering. Princess seams add shape for a more feminine fit. Finished with side zippered pockets, plus one on the sleeve. 100% polyester. Machine wash. Love it This jacket is just what I wanted. The fit, the length, the double zipper, the weight, the softness -- all make it extremely versatile, comfortable and attractive. I am usually between a Medium and a Large - tried one of each, and went with the large to gain the extra room in arm holes and hips, allowing for more layering underneath. The drawstring waist keeps it from looking bulky. I ordered the "dark wine" color, and it looks more burgundy red than the purple color shown in the photo -- still a nice rich color, but not quite what I was expecting. Still, I'm very happy with the purchase, and this will definitely be my go-to jacket in all but really cold weather. (Those temperature ratings that all retailers use are never even close for me! I basically add at least 20 degrees -- so if they say comfortable until 30, I know it's really about 50 or 55. I've never come across a fleece of any kind by any producer that I'd be willing to wear if it's below the upper 40s, unless it's full sun and no wind.) May 3, 2013
oooh, la, la -- blissful!!! If you EVER need a layer, this is the one to have!! 1) Beautifully styled -- attractive longer length, and doesn't look woodsy on. 2) So comfortable -- stretchy yet still holds its shape, soft, breathable -- wow! 3) Punchy colors -- let's you go casual or a bit dressier with accessories. 4) Plenty of room to go over other layers, or just wear it next to your skin for a blissful feeling. 5) Washes beautifully -- but you don't even have to launder just for spills, because they rinse right out with fresh water, and the treated area then dries invisibly and almost instantly. 6) Can bundle up cozily when really cold, but also serves as a lighter layer when left unzipped. 7) Doesn't attract lint (which many fleeces do). 8) Rolls up into a ball and then emerges ready to wear! 9) Stays warm even when wet, to provide great protection (and you can even comfortably sleep in it when the power goes out!). Indispensable for travel, for everyday, for stowing in a tote, for throwing on as you rush out the door, for TV watching or lingering over the paper and a cup of coffee. You'll wear this everywhere!!! May 1, 2013
Light Weight With Warmth This parka did not disappoint. The fit is generous and can be worn over sweaters with no problems. It is light weight but I was warm without becoming too hot. I especially like the zipper which can be unzipped from the bottom for ease when sitting and getting in and out of the car. I generally dress casually but can wear this parka over a nice outfit for an evening out - just add a nice scarf! April 14, 2013
I was surprised! I have a Lands End Polartec parka I purchased almost 10 years ago. I bought it for walking the dogs, but found myself wearing it all the time because it is warm and a lot lighter then any other winter coat. I was scared when I got my new parka, but I find it to be a lot more comfortable because the soft fleece is next to your skin. One of the best things about this coat is it's range of temperature. You can wear it to a place where you can't leave your coat, like a shopping mall, and not get over-heated and yet it keeps you warm enough for winter temps when you go outside. If you do need to carry it, it's like carrying a sweat jacket. Great for taking on trips between two temperature extremes because it fits easily into a suitcase. One tip though, the wind will go up the sleeves not allowing the Polartec to trap body heat. Wearing something with long sleeves will solve this problem. It does not have to be anything heavy. I would order another one but they last so long, it may be another 10 years! I'm going to see if the hay sticks to it. If it doesn't, my sister is going one! April 13, 2013
Disappointed I purchased this because of the temperature rating, which is not accurate. I thought this would be great for walking the dog or riding the horse because it was light weight and supposed to be warm. First day I received this it was 45, took the dog a walk and about froze. It is also much longer than in the picture, I am 5'7". I would have returned it, but becuse shipping is so expensive I kept it. The only way this will be warm in cold weather is multiple layers beneath which defects the purpose of lightweight warmth. April 3, 2013
Made for skinny ladies This is a very warm jacket. The fabric is soft and so far have had no trouble with static, always a concern with this type of fleece. I bought my regular size, PXS, but had to return it because it was too tight overall and especially the arms. Exchanged for PS which is a much better fit. Could still use a little extra room in the waist-to-hip area, and the sleeves are a very close fit. Can't wear anything bulky under it, but it suits my purpose fine so that is not an issue with me. I am 4'11", 104 lbs, and the length is mid-thigh. 2-way zipper is a plus. Like others, I am not fussy over the fabric inside the pockets. In fact, I think it was sewn in backwards because the soft, fuzzy side of the material is on the inside of the jacket and the inside of the pocket seems to be the shiny backside of the fabric. I wanted this jacket as something light but warm to wear over a t-shirt and it will be fine for that. March 23, 2013
Nice jacket, but arm holes and sleeves are a bit tight I love the fleece- just the right weight for 20 degrees to 45 degrees. Very soft, and I love the wine color. Fabulous that it comes in petite. The length is just right for me. Seems like the fleece would wash well and be durable. I agree with others that the armhole is a bit too tight, and the upper sleeve are fitted snug so that it makes it difficult to wear with a suit jacket. I'm 5" and 100 lbs, and the petite small fits fine as long as I don't have a formal suite jacket on underneath. The body and the bottom (around the butt) fit perfectly. It's just the sleeves that need a bit more room if I wear a suit underneath. Fits fine if I wear light sweater or blouse. I'd recommend trying this on in a store- I think the petite medium would be too baggy for me, but the arms would be better. But I'm happy with the small. I expect that the Lands End quality will mean that it washes well and will not shrink. March 19, 2013
I tried this on and although I could pull the zip up, I only had a tee shirt underneath Unfortunately I am going to have to return ths as it is too small. I usually buy an XL petite but this one only fits with a light tee shirt underneath. The material was light and cozy but it will have to go back. March 18, 2013
As usual, made for someone tall!! I am a long time fan of Lands End clothing but ---This coat does live up to its claim of warmth ,however, If you are of average height do not go by the photo on the model. This coat fits well through the shoulders but comes almost to my knees. Also, do not purchase this coat if you use the pockets very often. The zippers are really bulky, rough, and uncomfortable. After putting my hands in the pockets only a few times my wrists feel like they have been rubbed with sandpaper. I guess I will keep the coat as I need one for an upcoming trip and do not have time to shop. I just hope I can find someone who can remove these sippers on the pockets!! March 13, 2013
OUCH! I have had my old Lands End Polartec jacket for years and needed a new one. I really wanted this one to work. The fabric is thinner but the real deal breaker was when I put my cold hands in the pockets and felt this thin nylon fabric instead of the old fleece lined pockets. If my hands were dry they would have snagged on the fabric. It was so disgusting feeling that I preferred to keep my hands out of the pockets to freeze. My daughter offered to sew flannel in the pockets and I considered it. However, an hour later when I put my keys in my pocket my cuticles were cut by the almost razor like edge of the cheap plastic zipper lining the pockets. Ouch! That sealed the deal and I will have to return this parka. SO disappointed at the way tried and true Lands End products are being scaled down in quality. I keep holding out hope things will change but more times than not these days I am disappointed. PLEASE Lands End, charge more if you must but bring back the fabulous quality you used to have. Now I must continue to wear my old ragged jacket. PLEASE line these pockets in fleece next year and change the zipper. March 11, 2013
