Fits big!
I wear a size 16 in Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, and many other labels that use standard sizing, so I thought I would at least need a large. The large is too big, the empire waist doesn't sit where an empire should (more at my natural waist) and now the medium is sold out. I LOVE this dress and don't want to return it, but the sizing information provided is just so off. Should have ordered the medium and large like I was going to, since I desperately want this dress to fit! Might try the tailor to see if they can do anything about it... If you're thinking of ordering the large (since it's the only size left) make sure you wear an 18 or bigger! Rated poorly simply because Land's End can't seem to figure out their own sizing to make appropriate recommendations.

Length is misleading in photo
There's no doubt that this is a gorgeous dress - but it isn't as long as the photo indicates. I realize LE provides length measurements, but I don't always find that helps me because of my top-heavy shape. (I'm not tall - I'm 5'5").Anyway, it's a lovely fit on top and beautiful fabric, as everyone else has said. It's just that it hits above my knee, and not almost below it, which is my preference. In both the Reg and Plus pics, the dress looks a lot longer than it is. If only they offered it in Tall! That would solve my problem.
It's not a "timeless" length on me - unless miniskirts are considered timeless. But even as a tunic with leggings, it's a lovely garment.

Wow!
I ordered this in the medium and large because I seemed to be right in between on those sizes. The medium fit. I would not say it runs particularly big , but if you are in between you should order the smaller size.
How much do I love this dress? So much so that I ordered a second in medium. Yep, because if anything happens to this darling, figure flattering, comfy dress, I want a backup.
If you are sitting on the fence about this dress, order it. You will not be disappointed.

Comfortable, great for work
I love this dress, very comfortable yet professional looking for work when worn with a cardigan or blazer. I only wish it were offered in the 0X size- as a nursing mom I need the extra room up top, but the stomach/hips are a little too loose.

The PERFECT little dress
I couldn't love this dress more! With the pleated neckline and little subtle velvet polka-dots, its actually more detailed & tailored than the picture shows. Very well made and accurate sizing. I don't wear dresses often, so I appreciate the incredible comfort AND versatility: I can dress it up with pearls and hills, or down with a little sweater and flats. Its a great addition to my wardrobe that I highly recommend.

I BOUGHT TWO!
This is a fantastic dress in every way. The neckline is very flattering, as is the pleated skirt and empire waist. It is made of very heavy, nice cotton fabric that is perfect for a night out, but comfortable enough I could (will) ride my bike in it. I bought two because this is a dress I'll want to own for a long time.

Perfect Fit!
I passed over this dress during the holiday season, but now I wish I had given it a chance. I just bought on sale Petite XL and it is the best fitting, most slimming, stylish dress I have tried on. You can dress it up or down. Today I wore to work with boots, but would be beautiful with heels. I do like the thick stretch material. I think it lays nicely. I hope LE keeps offering dresses in this cut, which is very flattering.

Fabulous little black dress.
I love this dress! Sizing is accurate. Quality fabric and stitching. I have worn it with a lemon blue cardigan, a pink swing sweater and all on it's own--with heels or flats. Very comfortable and elegant.

Very flattering!
I recently gained a whole dress size and went from an hourglass to a triangle shaped figure after having my daughter in July. Totally worth it of course, but frustrating nonetheless. I am an elementary school music teacher and I needed new concert attire due to my size and shape change. I tried on many dresses and outfits but this dress with a cute cardigan and pearls was by far the most appropriate and flattering choice. Unlike other dresses that are cute but uncomfortable, I cant wait to wear this one again!
Also considering buying the ponte flare dress with a similar neckline, because I love this dress so much!
I am 27 years old, a size 18/20 (most times), about 5'8" (hem was past my knees, but I like it that way) and a size 40DDD on top.
Also the velvet polka dots are understated, yet adorable....really nice work on this one Land's End!
