Lightweight, lovely colour
I bought this coat after having to return a faulty, different style - which was excellently done by Land's End, as they paid for the international return. I chose the grey colour as I thought it would be a change from black and brown, it's a lovely colour and not at all shimmery. I'm not keen on the faux fur trims, so I took them off and I feel the coat looks much better. I'm between sizes but I want to be able to layer underneath and often the larger size is on the big side, however the adjustable waist on this coat makes a great deal of difference and I can adjust to a more fitted shape and I feel that layering will feel comfortable. Of course the weather here in London has just turned Spring like and testing this coat will have to wait to next winter, but I got if for an excellent price so I shall be patient. I'm inclined to buy the shorter version as well. At present all seems well with this coat. I'm only giving it 4 boats because I haven't worn it yet.

So warm
I usually dont buy online but my son has a Lands End he loves so I took a chance. The extra wrist lining was a plus. The hood stays put even in Chicago windy weather and really helps. The extra pockets throughout are a plus . You can remove the fur lining on the collar if you like. I was pleasantly surprised at how warm this coat really is. Way better than my North Face Metropolitan which I didnt expect. It feels like a down blanket is wrapped around me and its light and not boxy. Just long enough for walking around the city. I would recommend this to anyone. It did fit a bit big on me for a 2x, I would go one size down if you want it snug but if you are layering keep your usual size.

This coat has it all!
I bought this coat on sale in 2012, but never wore it because the rest of the winter was so warm. I finally took it out this year (January 2013) when the mercury hit single digits. As I wore it, I kept finding little details that show how much thought went into its design:
~ Very soft pocket linings, with secondary pockets with velcro closings, so you can put a cell phone in the secondary and keys in the primary, and not have the keys scratch up the phone screen.
~ The hood and "fur" collar liner are removable and adjustable.
~ The collar liner is the best, especially if you don't care for hoods. Partly zipped up, it keeps the cold away from your ears. Fully zipped, it ends just below your nose, and keeps it warm, too!
~ Definitely warm, warm, warm. :0)
~ The inside breast pocket has a slit for a pen!
~ The interior cuff linings are also super soft, and a nice length.
~ Did I mention I love this coat?
~ The Autumn Brick color is gorgeous! I just wish I could find matching gloves.... darn!

Super Warm!
I really love this winter coat. I bought it in grey because my preferred color (mushroom) wasn't available in my size. I'm very satisfied with the grey color. This coat is very warm, and the hood really blocks the cold and wind of Chicago winters. I highly recommend this coat.
My only complaint: why has Lands End decided to make coat pockets much smaller than in the past? The outside pockets have zippers, and they are barely big enough to hold anything more than 1 glove. I really hate the small pockets.

LOVE this coat!
I love this coat. It's soft and poofy and wonderful. Whenever I have it on I feel like I'm getting a big hug from something happy. The fleece accents are thoughtful and in all the right places (like around your neck area). The pockets are deep enough for my keys to stay put when I'm taking a walk. The hood fits me well. Some said that it covers their eyes. I didn't have that problem -- although admittedly, it's a *lot* of hood. When I'm walking about I actually like the hood.
I ordered a 2x, which is my normal size. I found the coat to be snug. I can fasten it, but I have to tug a bit around the bust area. Subsequently I kept it unzipped mostly, which defeats the purpose of a warm down coat, imo. I'm not huge in the bust, but I'm definitely on the ample side. Due to the snug fit I'm sending this back for a 3x. I hope that fits me better.
One drawback, for me, was when I drove my car (stick shift) I feel a little frustrated by the bulk. I do want to add that the bulk is exceedingly light, but it's still there. The hood contributes to this, although I haven't taken it off yet. So, when I get in my car I take my coat off. Due to this issue as well I'm seriously considering trying the parka, just to cut down on the material. This may be an issue for most coats. I lived in Phoenix, Arizona for many years so I can't remember driving with a winter coat on.
The nice thing about this coat is that with the 30% off the deal is wonderful. Oh, several mentioned feathers popping out. I was expecting this, but have had absolutely no problems with feathers. There have been a few little wisps, but it's down. My comforter sheds a ton more than this coat. Overall I'm pleased and heartily recommend.

Great details, fabric is a little on the thin side!
I received my much anticipated coat today! This coat really has all the pluses: fleece lined pockets and wrists, 2-way zipper (a little difficult if you don't push it in properly though), light weight, removable fur lined collar, knee length etc etc, especially the fact that it doesn't make you look like the Good Year blimp, BUT, I find the fabric a little on the thin side. I was expecting something a little thicker and tougher. I did see a few feathers poking through but on the other hand, I splashed some water on it and the drops did roll off. I am just not sure how it will stand up to our 'extreme' and sometimes brutal Canadian wind, snow, sleet and freezing rain!! The jury will be out on this one until January/February I'm afraid!! I still do really like the coat and when on sale, it's a keeper! Besides, we will always have some kind of weather for it at some point!!

Perfect!
This is the fifth down coat I have bought from Land's End. (I walk my dog ... a lot.) I can already see that it will be my favourite, and it just arrived today.
Every detail is perfect. The fleece pocket lings and cuffs. The removable hood and faux fur collar. The little belt thingie at the back that gives it some shape. The large zipper plus snaps. Other coats, while warm and waterproof, had only a few, but not all, these features. This one has them all.
I tried it on for five minutes and I know it will also be the warmest of them all, and they've all served me well in the warmth department, no matter where in Canada I travel during the winter months.
I followed somebody else's lead here in the reviews and got the steel grey instead of my usual black or brown. I am really glad I did. It's quite sophisticated looking.
I left the gauge as fitting right in the middle but I think it is a teeny bit on the roomy side. Probably not enough to go down a size for most women.
Seriously, I am surprised by how much I like this coat!

A great winter coat for the arena
I bought this coat to have something to wear in the Canadian winters. I plan on using it for walking, shovelling snow and watching my grandchildren play hockey. It is very comfortable and stylish. The fur around the hood and collar give it a dressier look but also makes it rather bulky around the neck. If I'm using the hood I will have to roll it back as it covers my face but that could be a good thing if the wind is blowing hard. I got it in the steel grey which is a colour that will be easy to accessorize.

Oh my Golly!
Ok so we live in New Zealand and you may wonder why I would need a coat like this. Well I am a (field) hockey mum and for the first time will be watching games in the warm. Thank you so much Lands End. This jacket is everything you said it would be. After checking the sizing charts I purchased a 3X but could of gone a size smaller. Haven't ordered from Lands End for many years so I am just reacquainting myself with the sizing. I also really appreciate that you make stylish clothing in plus sizes. Another bonus for me is if I needed to return anything I only need to send it as far as Auckland NZ. Looking forward to placing many more orders in the future.

Warm, cute coat
I waited to review this coat until I could wear it in cold, windy weather. Yesterday was such a day and it kept me cozy warm. I love the furry collar and the fur-trimmed hood is like another layer of warmth-insurance. I got the autumn brick (brownish-red color) in my usual size Medium Petite and it fits perfectly. The sleeves are just the right length; the pockets are lined in baby-blanket-soft fleece; there are zippered pockets everywhere. The only negative is getting the zipper started. Two-way zippers often seem to be difficult and this one needs to be lined up perfectly or it won't zip. Having said that, I still love the coat and think it was a great purchase.
