The full name for the fabric is “ponté di roma.” It’s a double knit with just the right body for dresses and skirts that work year-round. This pencil skirt shapes gently without clinging, and flatters with visually slimming details. 67% rayon, 28% nylon, 5% spandex. Machine wash. Imported.

A most flattering skirt
Amazing material and such a flattering style. Slacks have pretty much become the base of my wardrobe. And based on reviews, took a chance. At 6' and a 16W, the length is perfect and the fit, too. So often skirts are so short they are not flattering or appropriate for someone my age. This is stylish, practical and sexy, too.

My new go-to black skirt; Ponte rocks
The look, feel, fit, drape of this skirt is lovely. The basic black skirt doesn't get any better. It is classic and great for work or to dress up. You won't regret it!

Ponte Pencil is Perfect!
This is a great skirt. The fabric is substantial and has some nice stretch. The flat waistband and larger fit in the waist is perfect for an apple-shaped plus-size woman like me. I am allergic to wool, and it's hard to find nice, winter-weight non-wool skirts, so I appreciate the ponte collection even more. Great job on this one, LE! I plan to order in the other color available, and would love to see even more colors added in future!

nice simple pull on skirt
The material is soft and classy looking and has substance but does not add inches to your figure. I like to wear sweaters and longer shirts over it. This skirt has a nice drape, no pockets to add bulk anywhere and fits smoothly from the waist to the knee. The length is perfect for me at 5.6.

I bought one in each color and couldn't be more pleased. Great fabric, comfortable and versatile. Would love one in navy and burgundy.
This skirt is everything I was hoping it would be. Have recommended it to two friends, one has already bought one. Really,really great work skirt.

Great skirt
This skirt fits quite large. I am a size 28 in most clothing, but the 26 fits great in the hips and is a bit roomy in the waist. The fabric and workmanship are EXCELLENT, which has been true of everything I've ordered from Lands End so far.

Comfortable and good looking.
I can be hard to fit as I am kind of big and tall and this skirt is great.
The stretch makes it comfortable while walking, sitting and even getting in and out of a car.
The length hits in the middle of my knee, but could be a bit longer on a shorter person.

Beautiful skirt, but long
Just a heads up for the shorter ladies - this skirt is long. I am 5'3", short torso, short legs... the skirt came a few inches below my knees. My husband and I agree that it would be perfect if it were just a couple inches shorter. The length makes my legs look even shorter than they are. The ponte fabric is gorgeous and hugs my curves without being too tight... I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. I may hem the skirt, or just return it at Sears. I normally wear a 16P, and I hoped I could make the 14W work because I think this skirt is great - but it's just too long.

Nice skirt but room for improvement...
The. fabric is a nice weight ponte knit so it gives the skirt some substance. I normally would not buy a skirt that is unlined and I would prefer to see this skirt lined. The workmanship is good but the seams that run down both sides of the front of the skirt are a bit thick. I would have preferred a smooth front without the two side seams. I would also like to see this skirt in a petite as now I will have to spend $10 to have it hemmed.I really loved that there was no waistband as I hate waistbands. Overall it is a decent skirt. One last thing...I am so glad I ordered one size down as this skirt definitely fits large. I'm in Canada and this is the first time I have ordered from Landsend and it was a great experience and the skirts came very, very, quickly. I would consider ordering again.

Comfortable and cute
As a plus, anything that remotely looks like a pencil skirt generally doesn't work. This skirt is not the average skirt. Well made, much thicker than most ponte's and a quality zipper. I would buy in multiple colors if they had it in my size.
