flexible style
Love the drawstring detail in this cardi. Creates very flattering gathers that frame the face and your shape. Easy way to add some style to a simple dress. Feels soft and looks a bit elegant but without trying too hard. A nice accessory. I got a size larger that I usually do, because that was what was available when I purchased it.
I ordinarily wear a 2x petite, so the 3x fits me a bit longer than in the picture--but it still looks nice. (So this may mean that it runs short. . . most LE regular plus size items are 3-4 inches too long, even when I size down to a 1x. ) From the back you cannot tell that it is supposed to fit shorter than it does, flows over rather than landing on my hips. So it is an easy shape, but with the drawstring pulled in, not boxy.
I tried the purple with a dark gray dress and olive boots and it looks pretty fab. The colour is very flattering, even to my somewhat ruddy complexion. I think it would be totally gorgeous on both very dark and very light skin and besides gray and olive would look good with dark brown, burnt orange.
I am pretty particular--most of my clothes have to go to a tailor before I wear them, but this won't, even though the size is generous. I think this style would look nice on many different figures--basically a very easy version of the empire waist. Am thinking about getting the navy--in a smaller size, though--to dress up jeans and a tee.
