Great Petite Women's Dress - A Little Long, Though
This is a really nice dress, esp. on sale! I ordered the black and wore it for the first time to dinner and a ballet last night. It is very flattering on a not-so-slender figure. It's so nice to be able to find larger sizes in petite. It might fit a little on the big side. The shoulders fit& the empire waistline falls in the right place. I like the low v-neckline, and you can dress it up or not. The fabric is just right - not thin but not heavy; it falls nicely and doesn't cling or show every bump. I wish they had the green in my size - I would order it. I have not washed it yet, but I expect that will turn out well - I have some other Lands End clothes in this fabric. My only complaint is that it's a little long for a petite; I am 5'2", and it could use taking up about 2". Still, all in all a very nice dress, and I'm sure I'll wear it a lot. I would give it 4.5 "ships" but I rounded up to 5.

I LOVE THIS DRESS
I wear this to work and get tons of compliments on it. It packs very well for travel. The only thing Idon't like is that it pills a bit on the front, but my pilling stone takes care of that.

Order a size larger than usual
I'm so sick of jersey that I ordered because it was ponte knit. We need more of these, calf length. Hard to find without necks cut out too low. This one is OK in a size larger than usual.

The dress is well made and fits nicely.
I wore the dress for Christmas. Perfection would be to raise the neckline slightly.

Needed a seamstress to make this fit.
I ordered this one size smaller than usual. However, the top part was huge - at least two if not three sizes too large. The upper trim of the empire band was down at my waist. Yet the skirt portion just fit with not an inch to spare. I'm pear-shaped, so I do occasionally need alterations done, but not to this extent. I got a bargain from my seamstress, who altered it for $30. But that makes this a very expensive dress. I wouldn't have bought it if I had known how poor the fit would be.

Not for me
As knit goes, it was not clingy, but on me it was not flatttering. Runs a little large. Knit dresses are not my friends!

Wonderful dress, great fit
I purchased this dress in black, and after it arrieved, I liked it so much I purchased a second in pine green. The dress fits beautifully and moves like a dream! I highly recommend it.

comfortable, attractive
Finally a plus petite dress that doesn't look like my Grandma's dress (even though I am that old). I'm 5'4" and wear a 1x or 18W. Most garments are too long waisted for me because not only am I not tall (not real short either), I'm short waisted, with shorter arms. I'm not that jazzed about the bell sleeves, but the fabric is nice looking and forgiving. I'm just so happy that it actually indents at my waist instead of down on my hips. I don't look like I'm trying to wear Mommy's dress and it's too long. Wow! More plus petites in tops and dresses please. Thanks.

Big armholes
This dress looks lovely on the model. On me, it just sort of hung. A little too shapeless, and the armholes are huge.
