Great deal
Reviews were decidedly mixed on this dress but I couldn't resist trying it, especially at this price. It exceeds my expectations. I bought the green and I am considering other colors. It's flattering to my hourglass/pear figure. The v neckline dips a little lower on me than I would like for work, so I will wear with a cami or scarf in those settings. It can be easily dressed up for evening.
For reference to figure out if this dress will work for you: I am 5'4" about 140 lbs, curvy. I ordered size small and it hits me just above the knee, so if you're taller than that and don't want to show too much leg, be warned. I have a longish torso and the waist sits a bit above my natural waist, which is fine for me. If you are any taller I can see where the waist would hit very high on your torso, almost like an empire waist.
Only complaint is that I'd hoped the fabric would be a tad thicker. At this great price I'm totally fine with it and look forward to getting alot of use out of this versatile dress.

Love this dress and love this fabric
This is not the first ponte knit dress I have purchased here. I love the fabric; have worn the different dresses for all seasons, even summer with the sleeveless dress. This one did not disappoint me. The color was very pretty green and the pockets are a nice additional feature. Fits on size for me though it is a bit short for those who do not want to show so much leg.

Very cute dress- great price.
Just got it in the mail today. I'm petite, have some curves, and am mostly pear shaped- 5'1" and about 120 pounds- and I ordered size S Petite in green . I really like the dress and it fits pretty nicely. I think if it were a tad smaller in the waist it would look a little better and more tailored on me (the fabric bunches ever so slightly when I put it on with a belt), but it still looks good- not sure if an XS Petite would fix this problem or if the XS Petite would just be too small (and I'd order an XS Petite to find out, but they're all sold out now). I don't often shop at Lands End, so I wasn't sure of my size here, but for anyone who shops at Ann Taylor or Loft, I usually wear a M Petite there and from what I can tell, M Petite would be way too big in this dress. Overall, it's a definite keeper- it covers all my problem areas (a little bit of a stomach and bigger thighs) and is a flattering cut.

Love it! Wardrobe staple!
Im a 28 year old, curvy mom, I wear a size 12/14 and i bought the medium and it fits perfect! (I would normally purchase a large anywhere else but with landsend i always stick with the mediums and they fit my size 12 perfect), i'm petite 5'4" and purchased the regular length which is perfect as well, i do like a little longer length and with the regular it was just to my knees. The waist line fit at just the right place and the pockets are cute and dont add bulk at all. i love the cut on the dress, and the v neck is not too low, im a 38d and its just enough of a v without showing too much( im more the classy conservative type), I bought the eggplant and the black, what a great staple for any wardrobe, can be worn up or down, its really an ageless style and i could see it being classy and pretty on anyone, i would highly recommend this. My only complaint is to handwash gently as i could see that this material would pill if washed in the machine, i hung mine to dry on the clothesline and it came out like new. And just to let you all know, my husband loved this dress on me, he kept saying how great it looked and how the color was soo nice! Soo long story short, definitely a great buy, pick up multiple colors while on sale as its perfect for year long wear. I wore mine to easter dinner, im wearing it again on mothers day and i have an upcoming vineyard wedding for a friend which i'll be wearing it again all with different accessories of course and at the sale price you cant beat that! I'll be purchasing the blue and green colors in the future.

Gorgeous dress that fits
I received so many complements for the color (green)and the fit. It's made from really smooth and thick fabric, with long sleeves, suitable for spring weather and for the office. Pockets are really usefull too.

tad big...
I decided to go for this dress since it was on super sale and I'm glad I did. I ordered a small which according to my measurements is what I should have gotten (5'5", 135 lbs.). While everything from the waste up was way too big (sleeves too long too), I decided to have it taken in instead of paying for shipping and all that for a smaller size. With Lands' End crazy irregular sizing I feel like they should have free return shipping. I can't tell you how many times I've not bought something because of the likelihood that it wouldn't fit correctly and I'd have to pay to return it and get a new size. But back to the dress...I get compliments every time I wear it. It's easy to dress down with flats or sandals or up with heels or boots. I LOVE the pockets and pleats which means I don't have to suck in my belly!

flattering and versatile if you size down
I am 150lbs, 5'6", 34D bust with a little weight around my hips and stomach. I ordered the dress first in Medium which, according to LE's imaginative sizing scale, should have actually been a bit small. It was, however, too big and looked baggy and unflattering, the V-neck far too low, the stomach pleats hitting in exactly the wrong spot. I returned it. Later I read some new reviews, all of which urged buyers to size down at least one size. I did this, reordering the dress in Small. What a difference! A dress which had been frumpy was now - wowza! The dress made me look at least 10lbs thinner. In an ideal world, it would have been another inch or two longer; the length in small is definitely a few inches above the knee, which for me means I have to choose the work situations where I wear it very carefully, as the shorter length means it rides up. But for a cocktail party or public talk where I am mostly standing, the dress is a great confidence booster. Looks great with boots, heels, and one can really dress it up with accessories. So, why only 4 stars? Because after about 5 washes (gentle cycle, hang dry) the fabric started to pill. I will not get the wear out of this dress I had hoped, and no-one should pay full price given the short life of the fabric. In conclusion, Land's End: great, thoughtful design, thumbs up! BUT: it would save all of us time if you would size your clothing realistically. And please make your clothes in the quality of fabric that your reputation leads customers to expect.

Pretty - but not sure of waist placement!
The dress is of good quality and the blue color is attractive. I have not decided if I'm keeping it yet because I am not a fan of an elevated waist. I think it would have been TERRIFIC if the waist fit on the natural waist.
