Fit & Size Information

Women's Plain Front Washable Wool Comfort Trousers 3.2 5 19 19
Funky waist band, bulging pockets These pants have a very funky fit - the waist band is awful and the pockets bulge out. I will be sending them back. I wear size 6, am 5'3" and weigh 133 lbs. Perhaps should offer an elastic waist for larger sizes as I suspect most smaller sizes don't need one. I have purchased many Lands End suits, but not any recently since LE discontinued its line of professional women's clothing. Please bring it back - my suits from 10 years ago still fit and are extremely well made, but they've got a sheen by now! April 16, 2013
Weird fit I had bought a pair of unlined LE trousers a couple of months ago, and since I've lost a little more weight they swim on me. Based on the reviews of these trousers, I didn't want to take a chance and ended up buying them in the same size rather than one size down. I tried them on last night and the fit around the waist was weird. The pockets bulged and the waist area was tight. I suspect it has something to do with the lining. They're beautiful, but I'll probably send them back since all other trousers fit right. February 1, 2013
Very Comfortable suit pants I matched with the Washable Wool 1 button blazer and have a fabulous suit reminiscent of the ones I used to purchase from Austin Reed. The trousers are lightweight tropical wool and have a traditional style just like I like. No hip huggers for me! The stretch in the waist is hidden (perfect!) and is just what I need in my active job! January 7, 2013
I love these trousers. These pants fit well and have the warmth of a wool blend, but are washable. The style is dressy enough for work. Best of all, the bit of elastic in the waist keeps them snug but comfortable, no belt needed. I hope Lands End comes out with more of these in other colors and fabrics. December 24, 2012
Cut very small compared to previous orders I've worn Lands End pants for years. This past year has been surprisingly strange in that all new products fit differently from past years. Same sizes ordered but either way to small or too large. This is an example. Ordered in my usual size and it was very tight in the thighs, even though I ordered up one size than previous years. . Given that all of my older pants still fit fine and I have not changed physically, quality control or buying standard sizes are no longer a priority with Lands End. December 23, 2012
Disappointing These pants seem to be the replacement for the "commuter pants" that I used to buy. These are very disappointing. The pockets gape open, and the fit just isn't good. The commuter pants were my favorite "dressy" black pants for years, but it looks like I'll have to go somewhere else for dressy pants now. November 30, 2012
weird pockets The pockets puff-out badly and the fit around the buttocks a bit snug. November 12, 2011
Excellent quality, but poor pocket placement I bought these hoping that they would be like the comfort waist commuter pants that I purchased about 4 years ago, but these pants are different and not in a good way. The one thing that is consistent is the excellent quality of the material. The pants fit true to size, which was unexpected since most Lands End pants run a little big. I really do not like that the pants are lined. I find that the lining does not stretch at all so that defeats the purpose of the comfort waist and also makes the pants uncomfortable. I agree with the other reviewers who said that the pockets gape. There is a design flaw in the way that the pockets are cut. Please bring back the original commuter comfort waist pants that are unlined and fit beautifully! October 22, 2011
The pants are great My only problem is being petite and short - usually causes a problem. The pants just cut a bit too big. October 15, 2011
80-year-old mother didn't like them because they "don't have a waistband!" I bought them for my tiny, 80-year-old mother, and she loved them but "they don't have a waistband! I can't wear a pair of pants that don't have a waist!" Otherwise, the pants are beautiful quality. October 15, 2011
