What a Bummer...
I loved this dress when I ordered it and was super excited when I received it. It is so pretty and seemed perfect for the hot summer months. Unfortunately when I tried it on, I realized it just doesn't fit right. The straps are a little too long, and the bodice overlaps so that when you move or turn the layers separate and gape open for a potentially embarrassing peep show. This dress should have had some stitching or snap to close the two layers at the V. Also, the fabric of the dress would slip right off my bra. It was really weird! I contemplated having someone adjust the straps and close the V, but don't want to pay to fix a dress that should have been designed better. I will be returning this. What a bummer!

Fits as Shown
Many reviewers have criticized this dress for having an odd fit. I ordered my normal size and have found the dress to fit my body exactly as it is pictured on the model. I most certainly do NOT have the figure of a model, however, I have an hourglass figure with my hips in proportion to my bust and a defined waist. I am larger than most women. About four inches taller than the average American woman. Unlike runway models who share my height, the rest of my body is equally larger than the average American woman. I have broad shoulders, a thick rib cage and good, "birthin" hips to go along with my bigger than normal height.
As shown on the model, this dress is not designed to fit snugly around the empire waist. This dress also has a deep neckline, just as shown on the model. I can see where this style might not work for every figure type. I do not believe, however, that this dress is sized incorrectly as so many other reviewers have stated. I just think this style doesn't work for everybody. Keep in mind that the dress is pictured on somebody with a perfect figure. This dress is not forgiving. If you are not proportioned like this model, this dress may not work for you.
The fabric is lovely, the fit is very comfortable and the dress is flattering on a woman with a body type that works for this style..

Lovely dress, but...
I ordered this dress in the purple and green colors in my usual size but found it was to large. Before returning I ordered the size down and washed both dresses. I washed the dresses per the instructions and even air dryed both of them. Unfortunately the lining of the green dress shrunk (which I didn't notice until I put it on during a vacation), but the purple dress was fine. I have been watching the website and Land's End has only posted the green color once since my purchase last summer but only had a few sizes..not mine. I do like the dress but am not sure I want to pay to have the lining hemmed. I have been holding out for more to come in but looks like I might have to bite the bullet and pay to have the lining fixed.

The only way I could wear this dress is...
to wear it with My Cami Bra that I just happen to have in the same colors as the dress. My Cami Bra solved the very deep V and the gaping problems. With it everything lays flat and I got the coverage I like with pretty little bit of lace. Since I could NEVER wear this dress in public anyway as is, a Cami Bra saved the day as always with any low cut tops and dresses.
Lovely appropriate weight fabric. Length is on me (5'6" 150lbs with a balanced body) is barely covering my knees( my preferred length). Size 6 fits beautifully. It closes with a bit of difficulty but I know if I went up to size 8 it would be too big on top. So I am keeping size 6 as it is still quite comfortable.
Ladies, look up Cami Bras. Since I am not sure LE would allow me to mention the name of another store, They really should since it would benefit them to sell more low cut pieces and it is not exactly a competitor. It is a 4 letter word that starts with an S. Best of luck !

Lovely quality, but odd fit
Love the style, the quality of construction and fabric of this dress. The high waist was perfect on me and very becoming. Unfortunately the fit on top was huge. The armholes were very large and the top gaped a lot. I am a 36D and usually wear a Medium. Shortening the shoulders and taking nip in the waist would've done the trick, however the dress was already too short and there was no extra hem on the bottom to let out. I'll keep hoping for longer hems so those of us with not so lovely knees can make these very sweet dresses work.

Lovely, but not for me
This is a lovely dress and very classy and flattering. I'm a bit short waisted, and the waist on this dress is just right to accommodate that. With that said, I had hoped to be able to wear this to work with a blazer or sweater, but it just dips too low in the front for me to be able to do so. I would have to have the shoulder straps adjusted a bit to keep the front from gapping. It might fit better if I could go down to an 8, but my rib cage is too big to allow it. Alas, I will be sending this back tomorrow.

It shrunk!
This dress fit perfectly but when I washed it, according to the instructions, the dress shrunk up but the lining didn't. I will now need to hem the lining to match as I can't return it.

Pretty dress that's pretty roomy
I ordered this in the size recommended by the size chart. It isn't awful, but it's roomier than I would like. Unfortunately, they are now out of the size I do need. I'm going to keep it and take it to my tailor. She should be able to make it fit just like I like. The shape of the dress and the fabric are beautiful, so it's still a keeper to me.

sadly, did not work
The fabric is lovely though I was not a fan of the print. I usually wear an 8( 5'10", 148 lbs). I ordered both 6 and 8.
The 6 had no hopes of zipping close. The 8 had a lot of gapping in the front and was really tight in the back.
Another one for my "returns pile".
